Bang in the center of Goa’s capital, Panaji, this grand Art Deco–style stay boasts breathtaking views of the Mandovi River and the glittering Arabian Sea beyond. The hotel’s 170 marble- and mahogany-clad rooms are spread out over seven floors. For more space and comfort, book a Deluxe Allure Suite (625 square feet), which has such extras as a separate living room, a walk-in wardrobe and free wine. Take your pick from two top-notch restaurants: Latitude serves Goan and other Indian specialities in a palm-fringed open-plan dining room, while the more formal, marble-lined Tamari offers Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine — and a prodigious wine list. Kick back with a Pink Passion (vodka, passion fruit and pomegranate) at the low-lit Tease, or sip a sundowner at the poolside bar overlooking Coco Beach. Round off your stay with an Indian beauty treatment at Jiva Spa.
In the Area
Goa’s cultural diversity and laid-back vibe make it an alluring destination for the seasoned traveler. The famous Goan full moon parties are a thing of the past, but you can still hang with the hippie crowd at Moon Star Restaurant on nearby North Anjuna Beach. Here, feast on paneer tikka cooked in a brick oven with onion and green peppers. For a different experience altogether, ask at reception about the champagne sunset cruise that sets sail from Coco Beach. Farther afield, yoga enthusiasts will appreciate the range of classes, herbal healings and rejuvenating rubdowns at Ashiyana Tropical Retreat.
How to Get There
Its a very good property (both in terms of location and facilities) which is served with very professional and polite staff.
I stayed there for 2 nights and the staff ensured every little thing to be in place. Be it sending greeting cards and some goodies for my one year old son or sending birthday cake for my wife, everything was so good.
Late January and early February is the best tume to visit Goa. Vivanta has lovely people who offer to help whenever we want. There is a great breakfast spread, and tea is served in endearing glass tumblers. Clean rooms and excellent housekeeping.
Stay at Vivanta Taj was excellent. Rooms are clean, breakfast choice is exemplary. Service staff is excellent. the only thing that pinched us was the location. It is located right at the centre of Goa at Panjim, only Miramar beach is closeby, but not walkable. All the good beaches you have travel by taxi. Not only it consumes time, but taxi fares are quite high. Even at night, coming back from outside is quite expensive.
This is an excellent hotel and you feel at home with their hospitality. Rooms and the amenities are excellent. Food - you cant just complain. The restaurant service is uncomparable and so is the food. The Goan cuisine gives you the real taste of Goa. Check-in , check out is seemless. House keeping is good. In short you will not find any shortcomings even if you try to find out with microscope. I am personally very happy and will not stay anywhere else
Our stay was very good at Taj Vivanta. We had the best time. Though stayed for one night. It was great. Special thanks to Vinati of travel desk, Aditi, Priyanka and Sandra from reception. Hotel is very Near to market and easy to access other locations as well.
