Bang in the center of Goa’s capital, Panaji, this grand Art Deco–style stay boasts breathtaking views of the Mandovi River and the glittering Arabian Sea beyond. The hotel’s 170 marble- and mahogany-clad rooms are spread out over seven floors. For more space and comfort, book a Deluxe Allure Suite (625 square feet), which has such extras as a separate living room, a walk-in wardrobe and free wine. Take your pick from two top-notch restaurants: Latitude serves Goan and other Indian specialities in a palm-fringed open-plan dining room, while the more formal, marble-lined Tamari offers Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine — and a prodigious wine list. Kick back with a Pink Passion (vodka, passion fruit and pomegranate) at the low-lit Tease, or sip a sundowner at the poolside bar overlooking Coco Beach. Round off your stay with an Indian beauty treatment at Jiva Spa.
In the Area
Goa’s cultural diversity and laid-back vibe make it an alluring destination for the seasoned traveler. The famous Goan full moon parties are a thing of the past, but you can still hang with the hippie crowd at Moon Star Restaurant on nearby North Anjuna Beach. Here, feast on paneer tikka cooked in a brick oven with onion and green peppers. For a different experience altogether, ask at reception about the champagne sunset cruise that sets sail from Coco Beach. Farther afield, yoga enthusiasts will appreciate the range of classes, herbal healings and rejuvenating rubdowns at Ashiyana Tropical Retreat.
How to Get There
I was at this hotel for one night. It was a business visit. The hotel is the only Taj property for business class., rest all three are Resorts.
I used the pool and gym. It was excellent. The equipments in gym were great. Really enjoyed it. Have put photos of the same.
The restaurant viz. Latitude had a great food spread, loved the deserts (photo attached)
Best part was that it was my birthday. And the hotel send a commentary cake. That too in style with decorated knife making candle and match box. Loved this experience.
Really Vivanta by Taj made my Day. Thank you so much.
Recently my wife and i spent three nights at Vivanta By Taj in Panaji, Goa. We were very happy with our stay. We had a good room with a reasonable view. Our deal included room and all meals. The dining room had a wide array of food including a Goan, Indian, Chinese and Continental. The food was decent but not outstanding. What was outstanding was the service. Throughout our stay the staff went out of their way to help without being obtrusive - including giving us a complimentary drop in the hotel car to a neighbouring restaurant when it was raining.
One point to remember is that this hotel is in the city and does not have beach access. The nearest beach is Miramar about 4 km away. If you are not a beach person and like to wander in the town and sample the restaurants or are on a business trip i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel
Everything was well managed, right from check in to check out , spick and span room,
good food, smiling staff all the time, well maintained gym, lovely swimming pool, overall delightful and memorable experience
Excellent hotel staff, lovely and tasty food, lots of verities, very proactive support and helpful staff right from front office, transport, cleaning also wonderful restaurant staff.. Clean and hygiene room and entire facility. It was a very good overall experience .
The rooms are nice sized and are equipped with DVD player and surround speakers. We were two families so had good fun.
The service at the front desk, coffee shop and the Ask service from the room was impeccable. Keep up the good work guys. Human touch makes a tremendous difference for an experience.
