Set on 42 acres of Balinese-inspired gardens above Sinquerim Beach, the Vivanta by Taj Fort Aguada is a luxe resort overlooking the Arabian Sea. The Goan-Portuguese-style rooms, cottages and villas encapsulate the vibrant range of influences unique to Goa, India’s smallest state. The room numbers are painted on traditional azulejos (colorful Portuguese ceramic tiles), and the interiors are simply decorated with tile floors and white walls. They overlook either the garden or the sea, with the additional option of a “sit out” (a small outdoor seating area). Premium Indulgence Rooms are more colorful, with a teal and mustard color scheme, and the serviceable bathrooms feature Forest Essentials toiletries. There’s plenty to keep guests on the resort grounds, including a hexagonal infinity pool, a 24-hour gym and yoga classes, and the hotel offers a range of classes (from basket weaving to cooking), plus themed activities and excursions, such as fishing from a luxury catamaran. Refuel at the three restaurants or two bars, or take advantage of the private dining experience, which allows you to dine anywhere at the resort.
In the Area
Explore Goa‘s Portuguese architecture, whitewashed churches and colorful temples. Don’t miss the busy Friday market in Mapusa to shop for locally made jewelry and pottery, and to snack on spicy street food. The 17th-century Fort Aguada is nearby, and it still operates as Goa’s largest jail. Various water sports, such as jet skiing, can be organized from Sinquerim Beach. The Tropical Spice Plantation is a true must-visit. After you cross a wobbly wooden bridge, your guide will talk you through the local crops and then serve you lunch.
How to Get There
First we thought the place is pricey, and now i feel, good things/experiences have their own price. And this one is worth living. Great service, warm and welcoming staff, superb location and magical stay. The sunset point is one of the best place in Goa to spend time and watch a peaceful beautiful Sunset. A must must place to stay atleast for a day. Wish we could stay more.
This indeed was an excellent place to stay . Initially We got a room which was little small for four of us to fit but on request they provided us with better and spacious room . The swimming pool and play area was lovely . My kids had a gala time . The best part of this place was the easy access to beach . I loved my stay will plan to stay there in future if we plan a visit to Goa again.
Staying here was a very good experience. The view of the sea was breathtaking. Everything was perfectly organised. The staff were nice and cooperative. They also guide in where to go and what to see in Goa.
My decision on choosing Taj as my honeymoon destination was correct and really worth .The leisure time we got there is priceless and of a class .Only one thing I would like to suggest for the orchestra playing in Kokum they should get centre position than the current one as they will also feel the importance as the ambiance cannot be described without their live art .
Awesome property..professional and cordial staff. Food is great.. Highly recommended. Room with perfect sea view. Went with parents and kids.. Everyone enjoyed.. Beach is nearby.. Next to the property
