How to Get There
Rooms appear to have been renovated recently. Very comfortable beds, clean, good hot water. Front desk service was very good. Easy shuttle to O’Hare. Meeting rooms very very good too. Restaurant and bar had good food and service. Very convenient for meetings near the airport.
Checked in. Gave parking ticket to front desk for validation and charged immediately to account. No issues. Then my husband arrives and we do the same in terms of parking validation. Leaving this hotel was awful. It took 45 min to get out of the parking lot, as the event it hosted ended. I contacted the hotel and asked for someone to navigate traffic in the lot. No one ever came. After I got home, I reviewed my bill to see I was charged differently for parking each vehicle. One was $10 per night. One was $29. I contacted Westin for the adjustment. The representative said "We can't honor parking rate since the reservation was not booked under the event. " The event block was sold out, and so I had no choice but to book a room just to be at the hotel. I still was attending the same convention and parking in the same westin lot as hundreds of other people. "it was a courtesy that we gave you the discounted rate on one vehicle. You should be grateful", I was told. Followed by: " we did that since you are a platinum member, and we are trying to make your stay less frustrating." I asked to speak with a manager. After 10 min wait on the phone, the rep comes back, saying "I spoke to the manager" and he is not available to speak with you....saying they cannot adjust the parking rate and that "I knew about it . " If I knew they wouldn't validate a second ticket for my husband, I would have spoken up since I knew my husband was coming late. I have stayed at this hotel MULTIPLE TIMES and have never had an issue with parking my vehicle and then my husbands, since we were meeting at the event. We were spoken to very poorly and definitely not valued as a customer.I went to westin website to file complaint directly with them. I am unable to find where to do that. So I posted on trip advisor.
On a separate note, the food in the restaurant is good, it is extremely pricey. It is the ONLY restaurant in the hotel. I asked to place a to go order, and was charged a surcharge for not eating in the restaurant.
At another meal, I asked for a grilled cheese. They responded saying " I will have to charge you $2 more", since a grilled cheese is only on the kids menu. And i was an adult, so it costs more for the same sandwich.
Since its the only restuarant, as a customer you don't have a choice but to eat there. But the upcharges are ridiculous.
At another meal , we ordered room service. It came in a timely fashion, but the quesadillas were burnt and stale shells, and the chicken tenders were not cooked. I brought it to the attention when I checked out, but they were not concerned.
Room was great and clean.
Rooms are large and far enough from airport to be quiet. Location is ok. Close to lots of highways. But the rooms are old and tired. Not up to Westin quality. Usd 29 for car parking is a rip off this far from airport. Can’t say I’ll be back
Arrived at hotel after supposed check in time on 4-14-2019. New there was something wrong when I walked into the lobby and people were everywhere. I was behind approximately 80 people trying to check in. This all started around 3:30 in the afternoon. Long story short, I got a room around 9:00 o'clock that evening. Was given a $20 coupon I could use in the bar or restaurant but everyone else was given the same thing so I waited for an hour just to get something to eat. After flying for 9 hours from Europe this is not what I expect from a 41/2 star hotel.
This hotel was old and dreary to me. It is ready for an update. The shower in my room was awful. Drainage was poor so I stood in water up to my ankles while showering. Sink drainage was poor as well. No concierge lounge and only one small restaurant on site. I would not go back to this hotel.
