How to Get There
I am a loyal Marriott patron. And I’m usually very pleased with my nights at a Marriott. However, the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette has failed me. This past week (October 15 to 18, 2019) I stayed in Room 322. Upon waking up after the first night, I found two small bite marks on the inside of my left arm. I thought it could be bed bugs, but the bed seemed cleaned. I then gave it another night. And again, upon waking up after the second night, I found several more bite marks on my left elbow. I compared the bites to bed bug bites I found on Google to confirm the culprit. I reported it to management immediately. They transferred me to Room 904 and gave me access to Executive Lounge that served powered eggs for breakfast. My last night (in Room 904) was bed bug free, however, I could barely sleep knowing of the potential for another bed bug attack. I checked out with barely 2 hours of sleep; this is not at all how I expected to leave Peoria, IL. Also, I was left with these small itchy bumps. And then I was left with the task of sanitizing all my clothes and bags immediately upon returning home. Though the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette is said to be the best hotel in Peoria, I will never stay there again.
The hotel is old and not in a good way. Rooms are very dated, windows do not open and the elevators if working are slower than slow. Housekeeping was not good, one day not even servicing my room at all because I had the DND sign out until noon. I am a Titanium Elite member with Marriott and have stayed at many properties and this was by far one of the worse run hotels in the chain that I have stayed. Look elsewhere if you need to be in Peoria, you will be glad that you did.
I made my reservation 3 months ago and had one small request. I thought there was a chance I’d get what I asked for, but didn’t expect it. The man on the phone was polite, but that was 3 months ago. When I checked in, I got the same exact worker to help me check in. And he not only remembered talking to me, but told me he had everything taken care of. So thank you to Logan for such great service. The hotel itself was very nice with a good location in Peoria. I would definitely stay there again.
