How to Get There
We rented a condo through the resort. Walked in. Dead and live spiders. Bee in sky light upstairs toilet would not flush anything down. Air didn’t work. Screens bent and bugs could get in. Could not open half of windows. Someone’s left over clothes in closet floor. One chair in living broke when sat down feel in. It is under new ownership. Hope they screen rentals better. Spa was nice. Golf good except if lots of rain you will be Cart path only. Lots of low spots. Pizza delivered was great.
Very nice challenging golf, well kept greens with friendly staff always willing to help out
“The Inn” at the resort hosts elegant wedding affairs as well as anything requiring great views, great food and drink. The lounge bar is perfectly open and inviting.
I haven’t tried the spa, maybe we’ll get in the next time
My brothers and I have stayed and played golf at the Eagle Ridge Resort for the last 7 years. The rental homes we have stayed in are very nice and the golf is challenging but fun. I would recommend Eagle Ridge to anyone that enjoys golf and the beautiful Galena area.
Grounds were beautiful, but the accommodations were only so-so--the entire town and hotel folds up by 10pm, the food is hit or miss, and the resort is very average. Nothing special. The walls in the hotel are very thin, the noise from the service area below you is so loud you hear glass breaking, etc. all night. Dated bathroom, inconsistent hot water and water pressure...toilet sounds like a jet engine when you flush it. No microwave in the rooms, and the mini-fridge i in a weird place under the TV (logical place--under the vanity). Room service moved everything on my bed in order to make the bed up, but didn't bother to change the dirty sheet or leave me more towels. Then, when I didn't even want service, I came back to my room to find things on the vanity and on the edge of the bath tub had been shifted, but nothing else looked like it had been done, which I found strange. I felt for the price I paid, the hotel was less than a good value--I have gotten bigger, better rooms for the price and had far better food, service, and amenities. Also, most towns with a resort hotel close by tend to have a bit more going on in regard to entertainment, etc. At Galena, it feels like the entire town just withers and dies by 10pm, making it a really isolated, unappealing venue to be at. Groups of drunk or hungover golfers every time you turn around make it even less enjoyable. Really, not somewhere I am ever forced to go to again, I hope.
Sooooo...its Mother's day eve. All the (good) restaurants are full in Galena. What to do to impress my bride of thirty years?
I thought....hey the Eagle Ridge Golf property has several restaurants. Booked a table for 7pm. WOW they had all you can eat Prime Rib (my wife's fav).
Wonderful service. Everyone was friendly and welcoming!
Beautiful views and service along with the fabulous food!!
