How to Get There
I have stayed in Chicago often and in a similar area. The location is great which is a good start. Sadly it’s down hill from there. The place is just a bit tired, everything feels budget - I stayed at a Hilton the night before which was way better - the service in the bar was disappointing with (mostly) rude staff, the gym was limited and the whole thing was just not good enough. Come on westin.
The beds - normally great were good. The shower was average. The tv falls behind current standards.
The hotel is very nice and in a great location. Didn't hear much external noise either, so that's a plus. The front desk folks were very nice and we even got to check in early! Skip the onsite parking. There was plenty of nearby parking for a fraction of the price.
Location: in the heart of the magnificent mile, overlooking the water tower.
Lobby: spacious and clean lobby with sitting area.
Club Lounge: Platinum Elite has access to the club lounge on the 14th floor, breakfast, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are free. Breakfast is a cold setup includes cold cuts and hard boiled eggs.
Service: Manager Kristin emailed me prior to our arrival. It was our wedding anniversary and we arrived to an upgrade to a spacious studio suite and a bottle of wine with a welcome note. We very much appreciated the gestures.
Room: a spacious studio suite with a marble entry area, a large sofa and king size bed. The room has lots of space even with all the furniture. Heavenly bed and simple cozy decor.
Bathroom: average size with tub, sink and spacious counter space.
We enjoyed our stay and will be back next time I’m in Chicago.
