How to Get There
This hotel is just about perfect if you need a place to stay in Chicago and don't require luxury. It isn't fancy but also not a thing wrong with it, and I am picky about hotels. The location is wonderful, two blocks from the subway stop and half a block from the Water Tower Place where you can get anything you need for your stay including a good meal when all the other downtown restaurants have 1 hr long waits. Plus the rooms are fresh and clean, nice big old fashioned windows for great city views. A few blocks from the hubbub, super quiet. A Starbucks that was NEVER crowded is directly across the street. So great for starting your day with a nice espresso to get you going. All the staff were very nice, got me a competitively priced cab to the airport - no waiting, no ride sharing, just a good ride to the airport. Special thanks to front desk staff who didn't laugh at me when I told her my room card didn't work and I showed her my subway pass. hahahahaha. Thanks all! Appreciate nice people in strange cities.
Ok, I’ll only review this fact:
When booking via hotels.com, in Swedish, I read that there was supposed to be a SPA at the hotel (pool and sauna).
When I asked in the reception, they just laughed at me. Over and over again stated: ”we never had a SPA here”, instead of beeing sorry and/or trying to compensate me.
When I repeatedly said it might be good that the correct information is on the internet, so people (like me) won’t be disappointed, they said they would inform the manager.
This hotel is in a perfect location for magnificent mile and all that Chicago has to offer. The man in reception was very helpful in giving recommendations for trips and dining. The room was dated though clean. OK for a one off stay.
