Great hotel for a business event!

Recently stayed at the hotel for a business event, and it’s a great option in Chicago. The common areas are beautiful and the rooms are very well kept. The service is great all around. Elegant and clean.

Great Gym and Club Lounge - Bad Cappuccinos!
Reviewed 1 week ago

Over all I am a big fan of this hotel, its an older building with character, in a good location, very friendly staff and its a nice property. The gym is very large and has tons of equipment with a separate studio space for a class or a yoga workout. Club Lounge Staff were great, super friendly and helpful. One complaint - the automatic coffee machine in the lounge made bad cappuccinos. I know the coffee is machine made, my expectations were tempered and I've had them before all over from similar or identical machines. Go for the espresso instead!

Attention to every detail sums to a great stay!

The attention to detail cannot be understated. From the spa to the concierge lounge, stem to stearn, all were excellent.

The property is also well located with public transportation just a few steps away.

Concierge in the lobby could answer every question we had.

Strong recommendation from our family!

Great stay, clean, everything in order
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My husband and I stayed at JW Marriot for a Friday night in the city. I got room service (salmon, broccoli and French onion soup). Price was reasonable and it was delivered within 15 minutes of ordering. Room was clean, everything in order. Our first time staying here and we will definitely repeat.

Checking Internet Speeds
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My wife and I went to Chicago to visit her sister. We stayed downtown because our daughter also happened to be in Chicago on business, and the JW Marriott on Adams Street was convenient for her.

The hotel location was great. The service was wonderful.

The Internet
The higher speed Internet was free with my Marriott Rewards Card (now called Bon Voy—I hope they didn’t spend a lot of money to come up with that name), so I tested the speed of the better Internet in our room and in the lounge on the 12th floor. Both came in at 23 Mbps up and 22 Mbps down.

The TV
The television had the normal network and cable channels (but no NBA TV) plus options for Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Go. These channels work if you have accounts and login credentials for each. I wish Prime would have been one of the options. We were visiting for only two nights, so we didn’t bring a Roku. I suspect it wouldn’t have worked anyway. We tried watching an NBA game on the television using my NBA League Pass from my computer and my iPad. I couldn’t get either to work. While there was a convenient HDMI2 port and the remote allowed for us to view HDMI2, the TV would never recognize a signal. I suspect nothing plugged into the TV’s HDMI2 would work. We ended up watching the game on a small computer, which was a minor disappointment. We did enjoy watching a show on Netflix.

Our room was nice and the bed was great. I liked being able to check in and out with the Marriott app. We would come again for sure.
