Too many issues. Would not recommend
Reviewed 5 days ago

Stayed in the LaSalle Suite one night on 12/1.
Service leaves much to be desired. Arrived at 2:30PM and our room was not ready, no biggie just went to grab lunch, called back at 3:30 and room still not ready. The reason given was that a platinum member did a late check out and the room still needed to be cleaned but no time frame could be given. Why would they allow late checkout if they knew they were fully booked the next day? The person I talked to was very nice and apologetic, they offered me $50 food credit for our troubles. At around 4:00 checked again and still, they are cleaning but could not give any estimate. We were traveling with my 2 yr old who needed to nap, so I asked is there anything that could be done because it’s now 1hr after check in time, front desk checked with manager and let us check In to the next door room until ours was ready. Just unfortunate we had to keep asking until this solution was given. It was 5PM before our room was ready. There was dirty dishes and glasses next to the door that was not cleaned until the next morning.

The room itself was very nice and we did enjoy it. We decided to use our credit for breakfast before checking out at the restaurant. The food was delicious. I checked out and noticed the total cost for the breakfast was credited $61, ok cool. Now I get home and check my credit card statement and they charged my card the full breakfast without the $50 credit. I spend almost 10mins on hold after being told the food & beverage credit did not apply to the restaurant (never was told this when it was given to me). Now I have to wait for a call back from the billing department to correct this. Just more of my time and patience being wasted after a lackluster stay. I will not be back and can not recommend.

Black Friday Stay-Excellent
Reviewed 6 days ago

My family and I rented the LaSalle suite and adjoining room for 1 night on Black Friday. The rooms were awesome, and the front desk staff was extremely helpful as well. Highly recommend staying here. We did also eat at the Florintina restaurant, and both the food and service was great too.

Do not stay here! Absolutely after 34 years of travel Worst hotel on the planet.. Ricardo the security manager was simply alwful. Do not stay here ... worst jw Marriot. Wouldn’t comp the night we had to move. Wouldnt upgrade is as water was flooding our bathroom. Simply alwful.

Toilet flooded the bathroom.. They acted as though It was our fault.

Do not spend one penny at this Marriott.

Worst customer service.

Rating should zero.

Overall, good stay. We’d come back.

Mostly pros with a few small cons.

Pros: the room was very clean and mostly quiet. We did hear some loud folks in the hall around 1 am. The room was very large and the bathroom is REALLY big and nice with a separate tub and shower. Both of those are big on their own. The location is fairly central. Walkable to Art Institute, CIBC, etc. Very close to several metro stops. The breakfast in the concierge lounge was decent.

Cons: about the concierge lounge.. there is not nearly enough seating. There were a lot of people waiting for seats. Of course, there were those seated who were done eating or taking up a whole table for a computer when there are plenty of other places to work.
Also, some of the public areas needed some attention. I saw some trash on the floor and a wine bottle that were there for a bit.
Lastly, our room didn’t get serviced until after 2:30 pm one day. We called and they sent someone up within an hour (not sure how fast because we went down and waited).
Overall, we were pleased and enjoyed the stay. The hotel has a classic Chicago feel and everyone was friendly.

Great Visit.

I was impressed with this hotel. Staff was very attentive to our needs. The executive lounge was nice and although a little on the small side seemed to flow very well. I never had an issue finding a seat. The rooms are good for the city. Lobby area is nice and spacious.
