Luxe downtown sleep near Chicago's main attractions with three restaurants and a spa

The Lowdown

Close to the Magnificent Mile and the north end of Millennium Park, this Loop area hotel is a swank sleep with almost 700 guestrooms, an 11,000-square-foot spa and an exclusive 15th-floor concierge level. The guestrooms feature contemporary floral artwork and muted gray and beige linens, and come stocked with mod cons including Le Labo bath amenities, rainfall shower heads and Nespresso coffee makers. Three on-site restaurants make it easy to hole up during chilly Chicago winters: locally focused Aria won a 2013 Wine Spectator award; Eno pairs wine with cheese and chocolate; and the Aria bar serves up light lunches, sushi and cocktails daily.

In the Area

The hotel puts you within spitting distance of Chicago’s most iconic attractions. Take a funhouse-like photo of the skyline in front of the Bean, walk north on Michigan Avenue over the river for Magnificent Mile shopping, or hoof it to the John Hancock Center to see the city from up high (skip the organized tour and opt for a cocktail in the 956h-floor Signature Lounge). Sampling the city’s signature treats is a breeze, too— Giordano’s Pizza, famed for its stuffed crust pizza, is on the north end of the park; the original Garrett’s Popcorn shop still doles out its Garrett Mix (CaramelCrips coupled with CheeseCorn flavors); and nearby Portillo’s dishes out hot dogs and juicy Italian beef sandwiches.

Our stay in Chicago was that much more wonderful by having stayed at Fairmont Chicago. We came for a festival last year and when the festival announced it would be in Chicago again we didn’t hesitate to book again at the Fairmont. The staff is simply amazing. Mugi, Mandana, Juese and Sharon in the Gold Room lounge bend over backwards to ensure your stay is as amazing as possible. We hope that next year we once again get to stay here!!

Amazing birthday for the second year in a row!

The Fairmont was amazing! They delivered a cupcake with a happy birthday message when i checked in. But the absolute best part was breakfast in the Fairmont Gold Lounge and the mimosa and beautiful happy birthday song from Henry. He was the most pleasant man with a beautiful soul. I will visit every year just for his song :)

I checked in under the Fairmont Gold package. Mandana was very attentive at breakfast and Jesus followed up in the evening with cordials and snacks. Mandana was great at suggesting places to visit during my stay and reminded me of amenities in the hotel. I will be certain to book the Fairmont Chicago again should I travel to town for business or pleasure again.

We had a beautiful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff were helpful and kind. Had drinks in the Taproom that was amazing and the concierge service was the best . Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in downtown Chicago area.

When we arrived at the Fairmont hotel, we were informed that there was no room available, even though we had made the reservation three months earlier and prepaid. They sent us to another hotel, which did not offer nether the same kind of breakfast nor the beverages and appetizer that we included in our reservation.
The following morning, we had to go back to the Fairmont hotel early in the morning, because we had a scheduled tour, but we could not check-in until later.
All of this was a mayor inconvenience, specially because we looking forward to enjoy our vacation in Chicago.
The service provided the staff members Mandana and Jesus was exceptional.
