location makes the other imperfections worth it

we weren't willing to pay twice as much for downtown chain hotels and took a chance on this place. rooms are small, and we could never get our room cooled down to our temperature preference. but the location is just fantastic. for a weekend of theater and museums and eating, we never had to take an uber, and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.

Difficult to find and expensive as you know what BUT

this is not the old Club Quarters, at least not the ones I've been staying in over the last several decades in New York, etc. which were cheaper but also much older and dingier. This one is high end, as if trying to match the Trump Tower right across the river from it. Speaking of its location, it is great if you don't have to drive. If you do, be prepared for trouble. There is an upper and a lower Wacker Drive, a Wacker Place, etc. Plus your GPS is likely to go out. And they outsource the valet to an outside company ... it costs $53 a night, which is not much less than I pay for most hotels I stay in! Of course this is still CQ so there are self-check in kiosks, you need a key for elevator access, no breakfast, etc. The room are bigger than the other CQs and the TV big and nice. There was even a mini kitchen and the bathroom was just right. But the price ... oy! CQ was supposed to be a place where a poor college prof. could get decent accommodations for a reasonable price.

Perfect location!!!

The hotel was in a perfect location, couldn't of asked for a better place to stay for my few days in Chicago. Straight outside the hotel was the beautiful river where you can do the Chicago Riverwalk. Magnificent mile was only a few minutes’ walk across the bridge from the hotel, and Navy Pier and Ohio Street Beach were about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. There was also many places to eat and drink surrounding the hotel, you were spoilt for choice.
The rooms were clean and modern, and the staff were very friendly. The only criticism was that the 'standard double' room was quite small, but this didn't personally bother me as i was staying on my own.
100% would stay in this hotel again!!

Great hotel. Perfect location. Close to shops, restaurant and across from riverwalk. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Good amenities in the hotel. Close to T with connection to O'Hare (blue line). Highly recommended to everyone that's staying in Chicago.

Good location, old hotel

Good location. Small, old rooms. Bathrooms need to be updated. Very hot and humid in rooms thermostat said it was 73 when we had the ac all the way down to 55 and when complained, they said it’s an old hotel they can’t fix it. They offered us a fan that never came up.
