The TV's were not working in the entire hotel and the rooms were a little warm. I understand it's a historic building but there is no need for the heat to be on that high. It was windy cool but not that cold outside, even for a Texas girl.

Beware: Disappointingly tiny room for the money

We previously have stayed at their other location here in downtown Chicago, on Adams, and was pleased with our accommodations there and price. So we elected to stay at this more central location due to Open House Chicago that we had plans to attend on the weekend.

Although this hotel has a great location; the price, with taxes, added up to more then we wanted to spend initially..but then they tagged on a $50 refundable security fee to make our stay almost $300 for one night. (Not to mention that we booked this through the AARP Travel Center)

The hotel is squeezed in between two other very pricey hotels, the London House and the Hyatt Wyndham. Our room was barely 8ft wide with a Queen size bed having just enough room to squeeze by each side to get in. I could literally almost touch the walls with both my out stretched hands.

Personally I think this room was meant for one person as there was only one computer chair to sit in for the two of us, so we had to flip coins as to who got it. The bed was on a outside wall next to a window that was rather drafty. (Noise was no issue as we expected it, being in a very busy location in downtown Chicago)
It was almost claustrophobic.

I think that in order to offset the steep price they offered "perks" of free snacks, coffee, fruit, and pop on the second floor. And a wine hour from 5-6 PM in their "living room". For our purposes we could have done without all that if the price was a little more reasonable.

On the plus side the staff was very friendly and allowed us to leave our bag there after check out while we spent the afternoon at Open House Chicago.

Since we live locally here in Chicago we have been making it a annual weekend stay now when Open House Chicago is on. Next year I think we will look elsewhere.

great vintage hotel

I believe the building was erected in the 20's, but is in really really great condition. Most rooms are fairly small, but are well appointed and the layout is really functional. Free wireless, a nice television, and free kourig coffee in the room. A refrigerator and microwave are also provided. The in-house restaurant is also a great place to eat. I did not make use of their exercise equipment but it is available. Also, for the longer stays they have laundry facilities. All in all, I highly enjoyed my stay.

Nice hotel, good location but beware small rooms

The staff was great and very helpful when we asked for help getting a larger room. The standard room is tiny and might be okay for a single but two people are tripping over ea h other and have no space to open your luggage. Bathroom was tiny too. The upgrade to a deluxe was much better, about a third larger. Limited dining at hotel, a nice independent restaurant is next to the lobby. Elevators can be slow to arrive.

Terrific venue in the centre of the city, great service from very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, complimentary drinks at 5pm, good gym and facilities, definitely would come back. Close to the Magnificent Mike.
