How to Get There
We traveled 6 1/2 hours with a confirmed booking with this hotel as we had a good friend who recommended as she worked for this chain. When we get there they ask us for a form in order to get the employee friends and family discount. The employee who booked this hotel for us was unaware of said form. They basically thought we were trying to pull a fast one as if we did not know an employee. Literally laughed. The manager - Courtney? She was not management material as her employees over stepped her constantly with their sly comments. We finally got the form, no apology from them at all for assuming we were trying to pull a fast one. We asked for a simple late check out or any type of perk for the hour inconvenience and horrible customer service. Working in the hospitality business, they should probably reconsider Kawam, Courtney and John (the one who laughed) - they lack professionalism and empathy. We are CUSTOMERS, we should be treated as such. We also asked for extra pillows, in which they stated they may not have any and this was a horrible experience over all. Save your money. The rooms are small and the elevator is horrible. Not worth it.
Unfortunately I did not stay here very long, so there are very few "extras" I can actually comment on. Was travelling on business, weather kept any flights from going out, and we were forced to take a flight out the next day AFTER being separated from our luggage. By the time we got to the Airport Marriott it was 1am.
What I needed was a place to sleep, toiletries, and a goo breakfast in the morning. Marriott got all those things done and done quickly and efficiently.
I had just enough of an experience with them to know I would try them again. Maybe next time for longer and actually explore more of what they have to offer.
This hotel is pretty dumpy looking on the exterior and the king room we stayed in was tiny and uncomfortable. I called to see if we could get a bigger room and I was told that they are all the same size. On our way back thru ORD we stayed at the Marriott Suites hotel and it is newly updated and a ton of more room. I used points for our stays and wished I had never booked the old hotel!
