Didn't Meet Expectations

We stayed at the Villa Madame for the final 2 nights of our 12 night vacation to Prague, Budapest, Krakow and then Paris. Unfortunately, this hotel was by far the "worst" we stayed in. Realizing "worst" is a strong word, I'll explain. We arrived in the evening and were greeted by the front desk person, Nathan. He's friendly and welcoming. When we were shown our room on the fourth floor we were just surprised by how small it was. Some might refer to it as "quaint", however......it was small. And for the price we paid, we didn't expect that small of a room. At the end of such a lengthy trip I asked Nathan if would be possible to have champagne glasses brought to our room (we were with another couple). Nathan did bring us 4 glasses of champagne, but each glass was half filled and luke warm. The next issue was the overbearing heat in our room. Yes, Paris was experiencing unusually warm weather for late October. I went downstairs to again speak with Nathan, this time about the air. He told me he would simply have to hit a few buttons on the computer and the issue would be taken care of. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. No air was ever circulated through our room, expect for the air from the window which we kept open all night. The next issue wasn't completely the hotel's fault, but they did nothing to help the situation. The room next to ours had their television on the entire night. And it was on loud. Our hope was that at some point the occupants would go to sleep and lower the sound. Finally, at 4:30am I called the front desk and again spoke with Nathan. He said he would make a call. I'm still not sure what that meant. The tv finally went off when the guest left the room around 5:30am. We know he left then because we could hear everything happening in his room. Next up - the bugs. We killed a bug on the wall (which was not cleaned off by housekeeping) and we shared our room with a few other bugs throughout our stay. Back to the air and noise issue. Next time we saw Nathan, there was another manager at the front desk. We again asked about the air, or lack there of. A different explanation came this time. We were told there was nothing they could do about it because the air is basically turned off for the season in early October, which actually makes some sense. Expect, Nathan had told us a couple times that the air would be fixed and turned back on. And then we asked about the noise from the television. In regards to the noise, there really wasn't much they could offer expect for an apology. Our point was that we called at 4:30am and nothing was done about it. We then told both Nathan and the other manager that their website clearly states: "adjustable heating and air conditioning in the rooms" and "double-glazed windows and sound proof walls". Their response more than surprised us. The other manager told us that the website has been up for many years and no one had ever pointed out these items like we were doing. We found that response more than a bit offensive. A simple "we're very sorry for your inconveniences" would have been better than trying to defend an indefensible. Lastly, the 4 half-filled, luke warm champagne glasses Nathan brought to us.....$12 euro apiece - around $13.50 per glass or $54 for the four glasses. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars as opposed to 1 is the breakfast. It was very good.

Villa Madamme was wonderful. We stayed here after researching many hotels in Paris. I finally stumbled across this one and I’m so glad I did. The ambience, service and amenities were very classy. The hotel was cozy for a nice respite after a long day of walking. The room was also nice with a large bed (uncommon in Paris). The staff was very friendly and helpful for whatever we needed. We absolutely loved the neighborhood it was in, close to several metro stations. I would definitely recommend Villa Madamme and we will stay here again the next time we visit Paris. Thank you so much!

We had a great stay at the Villa Madame. Cute boutique hotel. The staff was professional and nice. The location was perfect for us. It was located next to a school so if you're still there for recess you'll hear the kids and the bells. No issues for us though. Room was small, but we were only there to sleep.
