How to Get There
We looked around for a good hotel that had a decent price, good location and simple amenities that would satisfy us. Our experience at Royal Hotel was perfect! We flew in very early from USA and they let us check in which was great because we were very tired. Our room had a very comfy bed, it was cold out so naturally we wanted to stay in bed, LOL. We also had a small bed perfect for my daughter and she felt special because it was in a corner next to a beautiful big window over looking the main road. Our shower had the best water pressure, we were very pleased. Booking directly we got the special rate for free mini bar, which was very convenient and we were grateful. In the afternoon, I took some "me time" and went down to the lobby bar for some champagne. The server was so polite and attentive, it felt nice! The Royal Hotel is the perfect location to get anywhere to be honest. We absolutely loved being close to the Arc and Champs Elysees. I had read a review after booking about the train under the hotel and you know what, I LOVED IT! It was so minimal I have no idea why anyone would complain, just stupid! I actually enjoyed it as it gave the hotel even more character, even though it had plenty! The beautiful staircase up to the higher levels made me feel like a kid again in one of the old homes you grew up going too and yes there is an elevator. I cannot say enough about our experience, Thank you for making our first trip to Paris very special. We really want to go back and that is saying a lot because I never wanted to travel to Europe. I am a changed woman for sure.
The hotel is less than 5 mins walking to Champs Elysees street and 'Arc de triumph'; also, the is a bus stop next to the hotel from where you can go anywhere in Paris; in short, the hotel location is perfect.
The rooms are very small, the economic rooms have no view, little bit expensive, the breakfast buffet is very short and limited, the front desk was helpful.
As general, I recommend the hotel for solo travelers for a short time (2 days max), otherwise you need a bigger room with more facilities.
Good location, with very law profile of Hotel.
The hotel is good for fast visit to Paris, to close to most of Paris heritages
Very accessible to many places, and everything is around you!
Recommended for tourists.
This hotel is in a good location but needs lots of renovating but certainly did not spoil our trip to Paris. Our large bed was most comfortable and did not hear any noise at all during the night. Reception staff are helpful and friendly. In fact all staff were superb. The Barman made us a nice sandwich late at night and their wines were very good. We did have a room with a balcony from which we watched the Eiffel Tower changing colours at night. Unfortunately it rained the days we were there but that is definitely not the fault of the hotel!! When we got back to the U.K. we then had non stop rain in January. Very handy for the Champs Elysees etc. The restaurant is not open in the evening but there is such a choice around the area that you won't go hungry. Their breakfast was very good - especially the scrambled eggs. Would stay here again when in Paris.
Thank you to the staff for making our part of the holiday in Paris so welcoming. The hotel is certainly in a great part of Paris. There is a park around the corner for walking our dog which reception told us about but it does close in the evenings, for obvious reasons.
Very small poor quality beds and very tiny rooms. Terrible lighting and ordinary service. Only good thing was the location. One elderly gentlemen was a delight and pleasant apart from that it was noisy walls paper thin and underground train noise was terrible
