How to Get There
My wife and I spent four days in Paris on the front end of a business trip and on a whim I used Marriott points + cash to reserve a junior suite with terrace at this property. The entire experience from start to finish was top notch. From our spacious deck we could see both the Eiffel Tower as well as the Arc de Triomphe. Truly amazing. Room was modern, stylish and clean. Bed super comfortable. Bathroom was huge. Breakfast superb. Employees extremely helpful and friendly. Not a single complaint, other than I wish we’d had another four days to stay.
The interaction I had with everyone I came into contact with couldn't have been better.......very professional & personable.........including e-mail contacts I had prior to arrival; was very happy our room was ready upon arrival after a long & tiring overnight trip; we stayed in one of the sky suites on the 8th floor; great room with a great view of the Arc de Triomphe & Eiffel Tower (hint: try to get room 810 if possible, end closest to the Arc/Tower, best view); conceirge staff excellent in helping us with very good dinner choices; liked the fact that you had to use your key card to engage the lifts, a very good security measure; overall, a great property; I would stay here again, but probably pass on the sky suite...........thanks for a great experience
Excellent location just two blocks from Arc de Triumph. Great service with complete breakfast choices. Plenty of restaurants around the hotel. Two metro stations close by for easy connections going north and west. Rooms medium size.
Member of the Marriott reward program for many years now, I stayed in several of the hotels from this brand (Renaissance, JW Marriott, etc) and am satisfied with the overall quality of the service offered.
This hotel is good as well but I am a bit surprised with the fact that it belongs to one of their highest categories (which means highest standards etc). Its location is great, located on avenue de Wagram, it is 5mins away from Champs d’Elysées. The staff members are welcoming, helpful, and a pleasure to interact with. However we encountered a few things which affected the experience there and I wouldn’t have expected in such a place. Among those, the sink in the bathroom was almost blocked and it was hard to evacuate even a small amount of water. There was also the lobby which had a weird smell (maybe due to an issue in the WC located their) and does not give a very good first impression of the place. A couple of other points are not up to a 5 star hotel: issues with the lifts ( one out of the two working only), soundproofing which could be improved, 20mins to bring the luggage to our room. The city view from the prestige room was limited, i expected more.
In a nutshell, convenient hotel which could benefit from few refurbishments and improvements of the way things are operated for the maintenance of its parts to offer a great customer experience.
This was our second visit to Paris and to the Renaissance Arc de Triomphe. Our first visit years ago was so charming and welcoming that we had to come again for our return visit. Though this second time didn't start as well with the lack of upgrades available at the time of check-in, they were able to eventually accommodate us with their best room on the top floor due to issues in the original room. We remembered the breakfast as amazing a few years ago and the quality seemed to have declined this time around. The housekeeping quality has definitely declined with missing refresh of toiletries and other lack of attention to detail. Beyond that, the hospitality is wonderful and the staff always welcoming and helpful. While we usually stay at higher end properties, this Renaissance's proximity to the Arc and the Champs is ideal. The metro station is a few steps away. The Rue Poncelot market is also within walking distance. Overall it's a great location for a home base and great value for the money spent.
