How to Get There
We got a deal on this hotel for a long weekend in Paris, could not fault it. Staff friendly and accommodating, rooms very comfortable with a range of amenities, powerful shower and rooms serviced every day. Large comfortable bed and pillows and quiet on the 7th floor i.e. no street noise.
Metro close by so no problem travelling about Paris.
In my opinion, the rooms are still the best deal in Paris, with one of the better beds in the industry.
But after almost 20 years of fidelity to Sofitel/Pullman Bercy I have recently been very disappointed.... After a few years of the new lobby concept, I am still not convinced by the check-in counters : when there are a lot of people, you don't know where to wait and people sometimes cut the line, pass in front of you, etc... But worse is the new remodelation : such a long work for... that ??? The new lobby bar looks like a train station hall : cold, noisy, ugly... You don't feel well, no separation between tables, no plant, just this horrible open space that makes you consider Starbucks Cafe 5 stars ! Death penalty for the architect ! Even the drink menu is ridiculous : 19 euros for a glass of basic so-so Champagne (this is more expensive than in some 1 star Michelin restaurants I know !) and 60 Euros for the double dose glass !!!! The hotel director's calculator was broken that day ! LOL. They almost have no classic aperitif drinks (5 choices), not even a bottle of red Port wine, which for me is a crime at the bar of a so-called 4 stars hotel ! The new color on the lobby walls is really ugly (a sort of dark brown) and there are 2 ridiculous ping pong table as working tables in the business area, which is totally open and in the middle of the path between the bar, the lobby, the restaurant and the elevators : good luck to try to concentrate and work ! Ok, I am sure they think all this is design and trendy, but I don't think they considered 1 only minute the clients comfort and well being. Then, such a waste of money and works disturbances during almost 1 year for that is a pity.
Luckily, the restaurant offers a short but interesting menu with excellent plates and a good wines selection. And the most important, the rooms are very comfortable, well equipped and soundproofed. The staff is also very attentive and friendly.
And for all that, I stick on my 4 stars rating, but would have given a 3.5 if available for all the nice moments I had at the old bar and that I will not be able to enjoy anymore.
I was there for 9 days. The staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful. I was there on business and it was close to my office. It is not located well for the touristy sites, but a very charming neighborhood.
Obviously, they had some renovation going on, and it was not finished in November. The new Bar was open.
It could be seen as a bit cold, but sharing a drink with some friends, we realised that it was a nice place to stay. Good service for cocktails.
However, we waited too long for our Burgers, I think they were still trying to find their way, just a week after the opening.
The rooms are ok, nothing special. Comfy bed, nice view, clean, smells nice.
Disappointed by the breakfast, too busy on Saturday, waited 15/20 min for a cup of tea. I believe they're victim of their success. Honestly I had better Breakfast buffet (Sofitel in Hamburg) for example. This is just average, and poor compared to prices.
Overall, it's a nice place, but don't choose it for its breakfast, way overvalued.
We absolutely loved the staff. Vincent at check in was terrific. He was both helpful and friendly. Enzo at the valet was also great.
Our room overlooked the Seine. Large room with the best shower! Located across the street from Bercy Village and the metro. Convenient location. Would definitely return!
