How to Get There
Arrived after a red eye. Was told the room was ready, but I couldn’t check in till 3pm- unless I would pay $89 euros or he would be happy to upgrade me to a nicer room for $50euros/night and he would give me free early check in. I own a hostel in Central America if I did that to my customers I would be out of business. Would never recommend this hotel.
My wife, daughter and I stopped here for two nights in August.
This is a modern hotel with chic interior, and fantastic staff.
The metro station is a very short walk away as is the funky Bercy village (shops and restaurants), which offers plenty of alternatives if you want to dine out locally.
Our room was smart and very clean with a very comfortable double bed. However our daughter's (less comfortable) fold-out bed did obstruct free movement, especially to the curtains and windows situated in the same corner of the room as that bed.
When we checked in to our room we found the air-con was off, with the digital thermostat showing the room temperature at 27 deg C. We immediately adjusted it as low as we could, but when we checked out two days later it was still showing an, uncomfortable, 23 deg. C; the hotel management needs to ditch the bogus environmental agenda and give guests the facility to cool down. The double-glazed windows didn't help, their inability to significantly suppress street noise perhaps evidencing poor thermal resistance too.
On the first night we were missing the towels etc. for the third occupant - we asked reception to correct this as we went out to dine, but it wasn't done. The chambermaid got it right the next day.
Breakfast was disappointing on both mornings. Coffee was served at the table from a single multiple choice dispensing machine (I would expect a proper coffee bar at this level) and was therefore watery and tasteless. The pastries were bland and stale - a poor imitation of those glorious croissants of old.
And then there is the parking! 78 Euros to park our car two nights. This is extortionate, regardless of whether the car is parked on the hotel's forecourt (as was ours) or whether it is parked in the hotel's "private" car par (which is, I gather, a reserved zone in the adjacent, public multi-storey car park). Had I had the forethought of using one of the parking apps on the internet I could have secured parking in the same multi-storey, for 60% of the price charged to me; still pricey but 40% less so - do your homework and avoid the rip-off.
On first encounter a lovely hotel, handy for transport, with great staff, in an enchanting area. However too many minus points; hot room, mediocre breakfast and nebulous and pricey parking arrangements.
This is a Modern hotel just slightly outside the tourist areas of Paris. The Metro is located directly across the street from the hotel (5 min walk). Within 15 minutes or less, we could be in any tourist area of Paris via the Metro. We also took taxis to and from the city for around 20 Euros when desired. The Bercy Village shopping and dining complex is right next door to the hotel and is a picturesque outdoor venue with good restaurants and shopping options.
The hotel staff was amazing!!!!! The Concierge, Hamid, worked persistently to help me resolve an expensive reservation I had missed. Everyone on staff was very professional. The bar and onsite restaurant were pleasant, and the breakfast Buffett was quite good. The rooms were clean and modern in style. The bathroom was similar in size to similar American chains. The hotel had an overall upscale feel full of modern touches.
We really enjoyed our stay and will return soon!
