Mosquiteo bites and water rations

Stayed here for six nights end of October 2019, family of four. My son and I were bitten by Mosquiteos. My son was very badly bitten. Have the photos to prove it. Complained to the Manager who offered a refund on the breakfasts but really should have refunded the cost of the hotel. Given I paid for a family of four, there was only one bottle of complimentary water provided per day I found it pretty shabby. Advised the manager that WWII has been over for quite some time and queried him on the water rations. I was told it was hotel policy which is BS as I have stayed in other Novotels around the world and bottles of water are not even an issue. Works out at less than 200mils per person per day for a family of four. Fridge full of water after complaint but it's a bit crap to go cap in hand asking for this basic stuff.

Dissapointed that the hotel is being renovated and the swimming pool was closed

It is a good location and I have stayed here before staff are very friendly but I was not aware of the major renovations and the complete gutting of the downstairs restaurant and swimming pool during our stay. Only a problem on our last morning when grandson was not well so wanted to sleep longer. However all our needs were met & I was able to take his breakfast to our room.

We stayed at this hotel for this visit as we had stayed there on a previous visit and really enjoyed it. This time we were a little disappointed. There was a strong smell of urine in the street at the front of hotel and homeless people living/sleeping nearby. Another gripe I have is the hotel did not provide toiletries in the room. This was the only Accor hotel in Europe we experienced this. I not sure why this was the case as we had been provided with them on previous visits. We had not brought this stuff with us to save on suitcase weight. The hotel did provide some on request, however after a long flight all we wanted was a shower and had to wait for soap and shower gel to be delivered. It was not a mistake either as we were not supplied any the next day and when I queried was informed that only executive rooms were provided with them. At over $350 per night I think this is the least they can provide to weary travellers without having to ask. That said there are nice cafes/restaurants near by and the hotel has easy access to public transport.
