Nice hotel - Select room with Eiffel View

We stayed at Novotel Paris Centre Gare Montparnese during our time in Paris. We had a good experience although check-in wasn't as smooth but the overall experience was pretty good.

We had booked a classic room but had requested for a room with Eiffel tower view. Being an Accor Plus Member definitely pays off as we got the upgrade and a room with direct view of Eiffel.

Regarding booking, we never realized booking in Paris is gonna be such a huge task since we read reviews that rooms are expensive, small, staff is rude etc etc. After few weeks of research, Novotel fitted our requirements perfectly. We booked directly from the Accor app and were also able to use the rewards points for payment which gave us 40 euro discount!

Check-in: While we got confirmation on Eiffel tower view room 4 days before our stay, we were told early check-in is only subject to availability which is fair. We reached the hotel at 11 am and we were room isn't ready and we'll get the desired room only at 2 pm. So we decided to best utilize the time by visiting Arc de Troimphe. We were back by 2 15 pm and lady at the front desk who had assured us that room would be ready by 2 pm told that there was a misunderstanding and room still isn't ready and we had to wait for 30 mins. Now this was really frustrating because you wouldn't want to waste time in Paris for check in especially when we had Eiffel tour booked at 4 30 pm. Nonetheless after speaking to the manager and explaining him the situation we did get the room by 3 pm. But check-in experience was really not one of the best experiences of our stays with Accor hotels!

Rooms - Considering the reviews on TA about rooms in Paris, this a sufficiently big room and we got room 815 which had lovely Eiffel views! Bed was also really comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Breakfast was healthy and had decent vegan options. Considering we follow strict Jain diet, we got good options for the breakfast on both days!

Room service could definitely improve since we had asked for extra towels couple of times but we never got them.

Also during our first day of the stay, there was a protest right outside the hotel against Novotel. The noise of the protest was really troubling. Wonder what the issue was about. Thankfully we weren't staying longer on first day and weren't disturbed a lot. But it would definitely affect people staying on front side of the road.

Accessibility of hotel is really convenient. We came from Gare Du Nord. Best option is to take Pasteur metro station for all the travel!

We definitely enjoyed the stay and would for sure consider it during our next stay in Paris!

Lack of Professionalism and Hospitality

We had bookings from 8-10 Nov. We had requested and got confirmation for the Eiffel view room a week before our stay. Today we arrived at 11 and they said that early check in is not available, which is ok. We spent our 3 hours out and when we came back at 2.15, the room was still not ready for check-in. The official time of check-in is 2pm and even at 2.46pm they need more 30 mins to make the room. All they have to arrogantly say is that if you want that room, you have to wait. I don't see any reason to wait beyond the official check-in time. Not at all professional. If you are crunched with time and have to make the most of time in Paris, this is definitely not the hotel you should stay at.

Fabulous Hotel for quick city break!

Well I read some reviews before I came that we’re saying this hotel wasn’t pleasant.
Honestly from the moment we entered untill we checked out it was nothing but positive.
We stayed in a Queen room travailing as a party of 4 (myself and 11 year old daughter and my friend and her son same age)
The reception is amongst a bar/bistro was very welcoming and given it was past 10pm we were still greeted with a friendly and helpful staff.

Our room on the 7th floor was spacious, spotless clean and had some extras we wasn’t expecting in the form of the children having sweets and a Eiffel Tower keyring on there bed and the adults robe and slippers. The mini bar was free and stocked with branded drinks of water, cola and juices. Again a lovely touch.

Location wise it was a 42 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower on the maps app on our phone. Although a pleasant and straightforward walk if you have mobility issues like me once you do the walk n sightsee it’s hard. Taxi to it was 15 euro.

We used the Metro from CDG airport it was very straightforward and took us to a stop that was 15 mins from the hotel again a very straight walk.

We had breakfast on the second day for the 4 of us it was €36 euro and it was a buffet style. Having 2 fussy kids we were amazed the amount of choice and filled up everything was fresh and tasty and the kids were made up as a Magician was around doing tricks! There was a free photo booth to take holiday selfies and print them off there too. We had room service too one night of pizza and few drinks. Again we didn’t feel over charged and food was good, hot and fresh.

All the staff encountered were friendly and helpful we had a great 2 night stay. Would definitely recommend!

To use the metro from the airport it was 20+ euros and a taxi was 50 hope this helps!
