Always a nice experience

I stay at the Mercure Monceau Saint-Lazare almost every month and I must say I am never disappointed. Of course, the hotel is a bit old and some refurbishing might be in order, but I find the location to be very convenient and the staff is very stable, which is a strong positive when one is a repeat customer. It is clean, comfortable and quiet and a very good price for money. The breakfast is also quite good, with very fresh bread which is much better than in a Novotel for instance.

Very Dissappointing

We were really looking forward to a very short two day break at the Mercure. As it was only a two day break we didn't have time to raise the issues with the staff. To begin with the room was tiny, We had upgraded to a privelige room but it was still tiny. We had one coffee serving, one milk, one bath robe. The skirting boards were dirty, the hall way in floor six was under some sort of renovation and it was covered in sheeting, there had been no mention of this when booking. The breakfast was poor, even when we waited for the hot breakfast to be served it was still tepid. All in all it was not up to standard. To finish on a positive note the hotel is well positioned for the metro and is in a good area. The staff we did speak to were friendly. Would we stay here again though? Definitely not.

we went to this hotel for some days, room was clean, neighborhood was good, but one night robbery happened to us at street unfortunately. Ms. Myriam helped us very much. I appreciate it. Hotel was absolutely quiet and we were relaxed there at any hour. we had good time at hotel but not good time at Paris. hotel is almost near attractions.

Good Location

The hotel is situated at a very good location with lots of eateries around. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

I found the room small but enhanced on the 8th floor as compared to the room for the handicapped - 2nd floor which was bigger when I stayed there earlier.

Do consider Mercure Montmartre which looks newer and near Moulin Rouge which is also convenient.

Nice hotel good location

We came quite late. Nice and friendly welcoming. Room was neat and tidy but a little small. Beds are very good so you will wake relaxed. We had one breakfast because of the price 18€ and it was not worth money. No fruits (only mixed fruit compot) or vegetables only just some really white bread, ham, cheese and chocolate croissants, raw and scrumbled eggs with small sausages. Some of the staff noticed you when you left or came in but some did not do a thing to lift face from data. This happened also when we left, we both said thank you and good bye (twice) but anyone of those four persons who stood beside the desk did not notice us. But maybe it is a french habit. When you work as custom service so you have to at least somehow notice customer and I mean there is no need to crawl on the floor. Learn it from an older man who was a night portier, he has right attitude and touch to handle customers. Hotel has good location. Bus stops/metro stations are near and you can easily also walk to the center and tourist attractions. Behind the corners are nice small restaurants and bars and prices are very reasonble. Walk also to the other side of the railways so you find there very nice and different area.
