How to Get There
I thoroughly researched this hotel before my visit but sadly it did not live upto it’s expectations!
Our room had a broken toilet door handle!
The tea/coffee facilities stand was broken! When our room had been cleaned none of the basics were stocked like toilet paper! I had to make 2 trips to reception to. Ole team teabags & milk & coffee & called to ask for toilet paper! Can you believe this is a top rated hotel?? No neither can I!
On our last day we went down for breakfast & still had 1/2 hour left, but to my shock the staff were already taking all the food back!! I asked for teabags ( again) & was gold finished! Yes finished! I then asked why they were clearing up when there was still time for breakfast? They said sorry & brought me back 1 croissant lol!
I am so disappointed with this hotel & would not be staying here again!
I am visiting Paris again & will happily book elsewhere.
Not what you would expect from this top rated hotel!
This hotel has an absolutely incredible location. From my room on the 10th floor I have an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower and it is quite impressive.
The process of getting checked into this room, however, leaves much to be desired.
Upon arriving at the reception desk, our clerk, Woury, handed us our keys and we made it up to our room. They must have just steam cleaned the carpets (good on them!) because on this hot August day the room reeked of mildew. The manager later explained that on hot days when they clean the carpets this can happen. Not the end of the world, we headed back downstairs to request another room.
Our ever helpful clerk, who was assisting another guest at the time, asked us if everything was alright with the room and when we told her it smelled she keyed us another set of keys and handed them to us all the while helping the other guest. When we went to the room that she gave us keys to, the keys did not work. We went back downstairs, I asked to speak to the manager, who was busy at the time, and another clerk gave us a new set of keys.
We went back to the 11th floor for the 3rd time, and tried the new set of keys, and they worked! However, the keys were to a room that was occupied by another guest! And she was standing completely naked in plain view in her room as some stranger opened the door to her room. I was mortified, she was less than thrilled, the staff at this hotel are incompetent.
As it turns out, Woury, had issued us new keys to room 1037, but had written 1137 on the key envelope. That is the reason why the second time we went back to the 11th floor the keys would not open the door. When we returned back to the reception desk we were reissued keys to room 1137, but nobody bothered to check to see if that room was available.
We decided we wanted to stay close to the Eiffel Tower because it was something we would want to visit a few times and see during the day and the night time. This hotel was perfect. They worked hard to get us into our room because our flight landed very early. They stored our luggage until the room was ready so we could explore and get some breakfast.
We booked 2 rooms for our family and they were next to each other on the 9th floor. We had a gorgeous view of the top of the Eiffel Tower and could watch it light up and twinkle every night from our bed. We also sat on the outside steps and could see almost the whole tower. It was just a few minutes walk to the tower.
A short walk from the hotel you will find cafes, shops, a bakery, grocery store and more. It's also an easy place to pick up a taxi.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable (but very small compared to US hotels). We had a double bed with a chair, 2 side tables, and a cabinet with a safe and fridge. There is also a closet. The main bathroom was a good size to get ready and shower. The darkening curtains were great and it was very quiet in our rooms.
If you are in a privilege room (8th floor and up) they will restock your room every day with Coke, Diet Coke, water, orange juice, and sparkling water.
We used the Batobus to get around the city and the pick-up place was just across the street from the Eiffel tower so it was an easy walk to get to it. You can also walk to the Trocadero and the Arc de Triumph. It's a long walk - but you can also walk to the Louvre.
The only issue we had is that the metro stops were closed that were close to the hotel because they were under construction. But I preferred using the Batobus to get around so you can see more of the city. (If you get the Batobus - do it for 2 days because it's like $2 more!)
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Take a taxi (with an illuminated taxi sign) to and from the airport - it will be a lot cheaper! And don't forget an electricity converter and a power strip to charge all your stuff! and a wash cloth.
