How to Get There
The hotel is not very large - which I like; my room was a good size by Parisian standards. The breakfast was generous, which allowed me to skip lunch easily. The personnel and staff were courteous, pleasant and very attentive, and they certainly have your well being at heart.
The location was great as it was easy for me to go places, with the subway being at my feet. The only problem I had came with the renovation from the next door building, as it was hard to relax at times due to the banging coming through the walls...but I do not blame the hotel for that..it was just a matter of bad coincidence!!!
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The included breakfast was quite good, the room was comfortable and quiet. It is located in an interesting area, very walkable to many sites museums, shops.
The end of my trip was nearly a disaster. There is a taxi stand in the square by the hotel. I asked if I should walk there to catch a cab to the airport. The concierge said the hotel could order one for me. I indicated the cab had to accept a credit card. (N.B.: cabs in Paris are required to take credit cards, but many drivers try to tell you they don't have a machine - be insistant). Then the driver whom the hotel called took me to DeGaulle, and when we got there said he did not have a machine!!! The fare was 60 Euros, and I had only a little over 50 Euros on me (I was heading back to the US). What if I'd been leaving France with only 5 0or 10 Euros??? What a mess, and I fault the hotel staff for not being clear that the driver they found for me did not accept cards. I could have easily walked to the cab stand.
Stayed at this hotel from 26-28 April ‘19.
It’s compact and this is most apparent in the rooms and the breakfast area. I almost fell over the bed when opening up the door to the room.
Barely enough space to walk around it too. The bed broke on the first night and not something I can take responsibility for.
The breakfast area is small with only one lady seemingly trying to do everything. I did see another person with a clipboard who was clearly a manager of sorts and completely unwilling to help the lady who was ran off her feet.
Reception were polite and as helpful as they could be and the Voltaire metro station is conveniently accessible.
I couldn’t recommend this hotel and wouldn’t stay again. But as a base for somewhere to sleep which is ok, it would work for some.
