Nice and satisfying stay!
Reviewed 2 months ago

It was a satisfying stay overall for our family. The location of the hotel is excellent, just a few steps from the metro station, at a neighborhood with plenty of options to accommodate small convenience shopping or casual dinning around. The staff was kind and helpful, the room was clean, and we also enjoyed the spacious bathroom of the accessible room they gave us, as well as the high floor views we had.

Ideally situated very helpful and friendly staff

The hotel is just one minute walk from the Voltaire Metro station - line 9 that has many links to other lines.
It is a few stops away from all major attractions yet in a quieter area.
We had a standard room that was a bit small. There are bigger options but we did not bother to upgrade as we did not come to Paris to stay in room.
Breakfast is very good. We asked to have a guest with us for breakfast one day and it was easily arranged.
The reception staff is extremely helpful and nice. We got easily an extended late check out.
I highly recommend the hotel and I am sure It will be our first choice in our next visit to Paris.

Mediocre with some serious service issues
Reviewed 4 months ago

Firstly the positive points: the location is absolutely wonderful, within walking distance of many major sites (Marais, Père Lachaise, Les Halles). The hotel is also good value for money -- yes, the rooms are small, but that really is almost the norm in Paris.
Unfortunately, there were a number of issues that are simply not acceptable. The first is that we and a number of other guests were left standing in front of a locked door around midnight, despite constant ringing of the bell. Note that there is no mention that doors would be locked at night after a certain time. It was only after one of the other guests phoned the Mercure central desk that, finally, the receptionist turned up with two other people. He didn't even bother to apologise for keeping everyone outside in the rain and cold. Secondly, on our third day, housekeeping did not change towels and instead just picked them off from the floor (!) and threw them on the rails, despite the fact that placing towels on the floor is the way to request new towels. At checkout, no-one bothered to ask how our stay had been, so here it is...

Tiny rooms
Reviewed 6 months ago

The hotel has a pleasant staff. The decoration is nice, with some colorful historical scenes on the walls. The breakfast is simple, but ok. The main problem I had was that the room was so tiny that it became a very unpleasant experience. You can’t even hang clothes straight... So if you have suitcases, are two, or like a minimum space to move around, avoid the place...
