Great location & friendly staff

We booked for a two night stay and absolutely loved the location, Jessica on reception was amazingly helpful and could not do enough to enhance our stay, if only all receptionists took as much pride in their jobs as this young lady. We were able to have access to our room prior to the check in time, great when you are travelling with a young child. Breakfast was really good too, varied and fresh. Really comfortable large beds and great facilities within the room, nespresso coffee machine, international TV, mini bar, excellent Wi-Fi etc. However, the room decor is a little tired and dated, and the bathroom could do with modernising. Housekeeping needs to be a little improved, whilst the bathroom toilet, basin and bath were very clean, there was thick dust on the heated towel rail, definitely more than a months worth and dust very visible on the picture frames within the room. There were no bathrobes for guest use as per the advertising, but that could have been an oversight as we checked in early. As we booked on a discounted rate we felt our stay overall was great value for money hotel in a superb location for visiting Paris and as already mentioned the customer service was excellent. Would definitley return if visiting Paris again.

I used this hotel on business during the 90s and 00s and thought it good. However it is all looking a bit tired now and the service not up to much. There was only one bath towel in the bathroom so we asked for another at reception. They readily agreed but it never showed up. There was a nespresso machine in the room which I thought good. However there was a note by it saying that pods were 1 Euro each which I thought a bit cheap. Anyway there were no pods in the room so not an issue. Would you ring room service for a coffee pod - I don’t think so. Also no instructions for WiFi connection in the room so had to ask at reception. In this day and age I would expect better

Don’t expect much

I understand that you get what you pay for, so going in my expectations were low. The hotel only needed to meet 2 criteria; It had to be clean and safe. This hotel was in a great location and safe neighborhood BUT I didn’t particularly feel safe because there is a policy that whenever you leave the hotel (I.e. leave for the day, go to dinner etc) you must give your room key to the front desk. I know that hotel staff have access to your room when you’re gone but that made me very uneasy to have to give them the key and not have access myself and it’s inconvenient. The major problem with the hotel is cleanliness. The bathroom looks very unkept. It not that it wasn’t recently cleaned, it was years of built up grime. I couldn’t stay there and ended up getting a refund. The manager apologized and said they were planning to renovate soon.

Unhappy outcome

We checked in for a 3 night stay and then altered it for 4 nights. Edith at the front desk assured us it was no problem. My sister also checked in but for 3 nights only. We received a phone call the morning of day 4 asking us to vacate the room. We then personally spoke with Edith and manager Nathalie who said "Edith is to be believed and she says she never told us 4 nights was okay." This took place in front of other guests. We were embarrassed to be called liars in this way and would never recommend anyone put themselves in this position by booking a room with them. There are many other more comfortable and loveliar hotels to choose from. Also, when my sister checked out they mixed up our rooms and charges completely, another example of poor management.
