In a quiet residential area in the 15th Arrondissement, a five-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, Le Marquis is a contemporary and cozy boutique retreat that has just undergone a hip refurbishment by Parisian interior designer Oscar Ono. Behind a traditional Haussmann façade, the lobby features pillars decorated in abstract designs and a mirror-lined bar, and the breakfast room leads through to a leafy courtyard terrace and a snug sitting room with library. Furnished with low tables and lounge chairs, the public spaces are decked out in muted tones of gray, burnished copper and brown. The restrained gray and cream palette in the guestrooms is offset by zebra patterned carpeting, while the spirit of the Parisian dandy is reflected in a series of black-and-white photographs that decorate the walls. The rooms also feature flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, a desk area and ample closet space, and nearly all the 36 rooms (Classic and Executive) feature a bathtub and Hermès accessories.
In the Area
The Eiffel Tower is a five-minute stroll from the property and offers unparalleled views of the City of Lights. At the other end of the tree-lined Champ de Mars is the golden dome of the Hôtel des Invalides, which houses Napoleon’s magnificent tomb. From the Eiffel Tower you can walk along the Seine to the Musée d’Orsay, with its wonderful collection of 19th-century paintings covering Romanticism, Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. On a fine evening head over to the Montparnasse Tower to eat in the clouds at the aptly named restaurant Ciel de Paris. In the experienced hands of top chef Christophe Marchais, the restaurant also proposes a “souper” menu at 11 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for those coming out of the nearby theaters on an empty stomach.
How to Get There
We had a fabulous stay. The location is wonderful, just a short walk to the Eiffel Tower. There are many Cafes all around. There is a bakery next door and a grocery store across the street. The staff was incredibly courteous and helpful. They spoke English which was very helpful, because our French is very weak. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The staff must have recognized it was my birthday from my passport, because they surprised me by setting up champagne and macaroons in the room! That was such a surprise and a great addition to bring in my milestone birthday!! We would not hesitate to stay there again!
I traveled to Paris in September for a dad-daughter trip that had been promised for 13 years. She always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower so I researched for a hotel close to it. This seemed the best and I wasn't disappointed. Loic was very welcoming from the start and we had a lovely room on the top floor which gave us glimpses of the top of the Eiffel Tower which was wonderful especially at night when it lit up. I had mentioned it was my daughter's 16th birthday so there were balloons and champagne on arrival which she felt really blessed with. The room was a good size with a modern bathroom. Opening the windows was great when we needed some fresh air. The mini bar with free drinks was very welcome as was the espresso machine. The beds were very comfortable and I couldn't hear any street noise or other room noise. There was a free mobile phone for use which I didn't need but it would be very handy if I had needed it. The breakfast was lovely and filled us up ready for our day ahead. The location is perfect - 10 minutes to the Eiffel Tower and Metro stations a few minutes walk away. The supermarket over the road was well stocked as was the patisserie a couple of doors away. Other bonuses included a laundromat just around the corner and the Velib hire bikes just down the road. All in all, we had a week we will never forget in Paris with a large part being the stay at Hotel Le Marquis. Thanks!
We stayed in September at this hotel, and it was very nice. We booked this hotel because it was close to the main attraction: Eiffel Tower.
The rooms are on the smaller side, however this is very typical for Paris. Very clean rooms, the bed/pillows/sheets are AMAZING. Our room faced the street, however it was not noisy during the night. We had no issues with any noises. I loved the expresso machine we had in the room.
The staff, especially the people at the reception are wonderful: very cordial, professional and helpful on any aspect.
I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to experience Paris in a very cozy hotel.
I had the opportunity to travel to Paris very last minute with my daughter while she was working. I had never been and had no idea where to start. I found Hotel Le Marquis on TripAdvisor and took a chance . I was checking in less than 24hours later. I was welcomed warmly, the room was spacious and quiet. The staff friendly and helpful, even putting up with my horrible attempts at French.
An especially nice touch for the weary traveler was the handwritten welcome note and bottle of wine waiting for me in my room. I found Paris so easy to navigate and the hotel location was perfect for walking, seeing the sights Paris has to offer, and endless dining options. There is also a market conveniently located across the street where we were able to load up on water and snacks. The mini fridge was useful!
My daughter and I walked Paris end to end, and Hotel Le Marquis was a quiet refuge to return to at the end of 5 long days.
I highly recommend!
My stay at this hotel was really exceptional. The cordiality of the staff and the promptness in address our needs were frankly remarkable. The modern Décor provide a special atmosphere, cozy and bright. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. A free cellular is included on the rate with free service and no charge in international calls. Sleep quality and Housekeeping services were awesome. The breakfast buffet was very good and include any coffee drink. On top of all this, the location is perfect, close to the Eiffel Tower and nearby the main Paris landmarks.
No doubts a great place to stay with a fair price.
