How to Get There
My husband and I were blown away, the staff, the room/hotel atmosphere, the best breakfast, and the overall experience at Hotel Le Marceau Bastille was more than we could have ever expected! We met the owner and interacted with the main staff regularly, including Cyril, David, Keria, Soumare, Veronica, Alakana, they were all so amazing. David went above and beyond, spending hours with us to ensure we had everything booked and made sure our vacation was perfect, and it truly was. The nicest hotel I have ever stayed at, so much so that I will return to Paris and never stay anywhere else! If I could give this hotel 100 stars I would. Thank you again to everyone who helped us and for making this vacation the best vacation we have ever taken!
We were greeted with warmth and care. Professional expertise and aesthetics were expressed throughout all aspects of hotel management. Our room and bathroom were a welcomed place to enjoy a respite. Bedroom and bathroom were very clean, charming, and comfortable. The location is great - close to Place de Bastille, Gare de Lyon, the Marais, Metro, Opera, etc. Breakfast was delicious in a super-lovely art gallery setting.
Very charming hotel with everything you need. In our case we were attending a couple of operas at the Bastille and so the location was especially good. It is also a short walk from the Promenade Plantée which is a beautiful walk 10 meters above street level which although 2.9 miles in length you can descend to street level at regular intervals. A green oasis in a busy city with seating. The breakfast offering was good and we found the hotel to be quiet with opening windows for fresh air. All the staff were helpful and efficient, but a mention for Mr Soumare who was especially attentive and friendly. Being honest we could not give a five rating as our bathroom had a badly cracked washbasin and the shower floor was damaged. Neither of these issues prevented us from using these facilities but it did not look good.
This conveniently located hotel in the Bastille area was very well appointed in a modern bright style. A fabulous art display surrounded a light bright foyer and lounge/bar area. Whilst there were some large leather couches we questioned the small very low lounge chairs.
However, its greatest strength was that every staff member across the four night stay was very friendly, accomodating and made you feel very welcome.
The breakfast had an unusually large selection for a Paris hotel.
The room was bright, comfortable and quiet - even when overlooking the street.
We stayed for four nights in early April 2019. Location is good - short walk to several Metro stations, and for those who like to walk, walkable to the Marais, Ile de La Cite, the Promenade Plantee (the Paris elevated walkway) and other attractions. Breakfast buffet is very good including pastries, eggs, cheese and meats, yogurt, fruit, and a selection of rolls. Rooms are small, but typical for Paris, and beds are comfortable. Staff is bilingual and very helpful with local restaurant recommendations etc.
