Charming hotel in a prime location

My wife and I enjoyed two nights at this charming little hotel. Our room was a comfortable size, not overly large but very satisfactory. The room must have been well insulated as it was very quiet even though it overlooked Rue Bonaparte, which is a very busy street. We found the staff to be very helpful in every way. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely small boutique hotel in an excellent location

Choosing a hotel in this part of Paris isn't easy because there are so many properties that travelers seem happy with, and each seems slightly different from the others. We chose this hotel because of its combination of location and comfort. It is a bit pricey, but it's also really nice.

First, the location. Rue Jacob is a narrow street, and this spot is about 3-5 minutes from both the metro and the lively area of St. Germain des Pres where all the restaurants are. Some people may prefer being closer to the action, but for me, the distance is welcome because the hotel is relatively quiet. Also, the location is perfectly situated for exploring the major attractions of Paris. It's maybe 10-15 minutes to the Musee D'Orsay, Louvre, and St. Chapelle. It's not much farther to Notre Dame and L'Orangerie. The Seine is 2 blocks away. Indeed, we rarely took the metro because we found it so easy to walk to where we wanted to go.

I should also add that the area has little delights that add to the ambience of the location. The Josephine Bakery has fabulous croissant and pastries. Grom has very nice gelato.

Second, the hotel itself. The rooms are modest (it's Paris), but very comfortable. The room was very clean. I wish there were room for an extra chair, that the basin/sink in the bathroom were a bit larger, or that the shower/tub had a bit more glass to keep the water from escaping so easily. These are minor quibbles considering how much we enjoyed our stay here, but I include them as no place is perfect. The staff at the hotel spoke English well and was very helpful with making arrangements and reservations (something that can prove very helpful if your French isn't that good!).

All in all, I would be happy to stay here again and recommend the hotel as an excellent place to stay in Paris!
