How to Get There
The location is great ! Rooms were super clean nicely decorated and very functional with the small kitchen with a washer/dryer The front desk was very nice, the honor bar and coffee and cookies in the afternoon were a nice touch
I would definitely stay here again .
I stayed at La Clef Louvre for a few days while travelling to Paris on business. I had some free time on my hands and wanted to be close to the conference hotel, but also close enough to explore the city. The location was superb - steps from the Louvre, and thus always easy to find my way home while out exploring. The wifi was excellent. The lobby is quite lovely with beautiful flowers and hip decor. Recommendations and directions for local restaurants and from the concierge were appreciated.
The morning breakfasts were a nice treat - eggs, sausages, a variety of cheese, yoghurts, cereals, fruits, and of course baguettes and croissants. I wish currants were easier to find in Toronto! They topped a delicious yoghurt parfait to start the day.
The room was very pretty, with a comfortable bed and lots of closet space for unpacking. I did not use the kitchenette, but the complimentary still and sparkling water was a nice touch, as was the tea and teapot. The water was refreshed constantly, even if a bottle was not finished, which was much appreciated.
I would recommend La Clef Louvre to others staying in Paris.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Clef Louvre. We had previously stayed in an apartment when visiting Paris and wanted to have a similar experience in a hotel. We chose the hotel as it has a kitchenette and a washer/dryer in the suite. Our suite was very comfortable and spacious. The hotel staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make sure that your stay is enjoyable and to be helpful when asked. We loved the location as it was very convenient for walking as it is so central. We found many new restaurants within walking distance of the hotel as well as several grocery options. We would definitely stay at Le Clef Louvre again when visiting Paris.
This hotel was amazing. We upgraded to the royal suite and it was well worth it. It had a kitchen, separate bedroom and huge balcony. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was the first time in Paris and we will definitely be back. Great place! It was our anniversary and they surprised us with some flowers on the bed.
After several glowing reviews of this property and having referred countless family, friends, colleagues and clients, it is a difficult decision to publish the following review. There is much to commend this property - location, housekeeping, decor and amenity but we are saddened to advise that our recent stay will be our last. Our review should only be considered in the context that we reserved a Royale Suite and as such the review should only be considered by those contemplating reserving this category of suite. We have reserved a Royale Suite on many occasions together with other categories of room for family and friends and thus we were incredibly disappointed to find that this property has 'reclassified' lesser suites as the more desirable 'Royale Suite' Upon entering our room we immediately identified the suite as incredibly inferior to our previous designated suites - there was no separate bedroom, the sitting room was half the size as was the bathroom and although we had the requested balcony, we overlooked a dingy side street and roof top, and not the gorgeous fountain and Louvre view that we had been offered previously. We immediately brought our concerns to the receptionist and advised that our designated room had previously been booked under another lesser category for a family member. The receptionist advised that she would confer with the manager but we were disgusted to hear laughter emanating from the office and with no appearance from the manager, we were informed by the receptionist that the rooms on the sixth floor had all been reclassified as Royale Suites. We remonstrated that we knew that the offered room was inferior to our previous Royale Suite and she reluctantly agreed but as the property was fully booked, she could offer no alternative. This 'reclassification' is not only disingenuous but deceitful and had we not experienced a proper Royale Suite we would be none the wiser. To offer the room we stayed in as the same designation is unfair and the explanation that other rooms had been 'reclassified' is an insufficient explanation. Beware those booking Royale Suites as there are inferior levels clearly for inferior clients.
