How to Get There
Great place to stay in Paris. Close to everything, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. We saw lots of great places, and could walk to points of interest. Great places to eat nearby.
We had 4 nights at Ze Hotel. I was initially impressed with the quirky room and knew it would be small as most Paris hotels are but my good feeling soon passed.
The room was stuffy with the window shut but the air cond was too noisy to leave switched on.
The room had 1 bottle of water provided on the side desk and this was not replenished at all during our stay. There was a small map of Paris provided but no pen or notepad.
The room was made up each day however by day 3 the house keepers didn't bother to place cushions back on the bed, rather just left them on the floor.
The rooms have no sound proofing at all. Do not expect a good night's sleep here. You will hear everything from other rooms including phone conversations, bathroom use and we even had to endure 1 neighbour blowing his nose as if he was standing right beside us, it was terrible.
There is no way you can make tea or coffee in the room and no mini bar despite this being shown as a hotel feature.
On checkout I said that I was disappointed with noise and I was told that I should have said something sooner but they had no other vacancy so could not have moved our room. So what was the point?
I was asked if I had used anything from the mini bar and when I said there was no mini bar in our room (43) the clerk was surprised. He doesn't know his own hotel, clearly.
I had 1cup of coffee in the lounge which was a Nespresso pod served with cold milk, horrible. For this they wanted to charge €3.50
My demeanor was not getting any better and they decided to waive the charge.
I was not happy with the facilities or quality of the hotel and wouldn't recommend it. While the location is close to Metro and Sacre Coeur, the neighborhood looks very dirty and doesn't seem safe after dark due to the number of street dwellers sleeping in doorways.
This hotel is located between Cadet and Anvers Metro station and near the 85 Bus that takes you to the Flea markets. We had room 1 on the ground floor, they are really trendy and quirky but not really functional for a hotel room. you have to keep your drapes closed as you are at street level in this room.
The wardrobe is an old shipping trunk (Very Small and there is a velvet seating area which could have been utilised for more hanging space. More hooks and rails are desperately needed in this room as the bench space is very limited as well and you are constantly tripping over things that could otherwise be hung up.
the $15 euro continental breakfast is typically "PARIS" (Grossly over priced for what it is). but I think all establishments are about the same.
The bathroom needs stronger exhaust as it is an open shower and it steams up very fast and comes out into the room even with the double sliding bathroom doors closed and makes the room very muggy. Also if you have a poo the smell permeates the whole room.
In saying that, the rainshower head and handshower with aroma therapy facility is amazing.
The staff are very very friendly and helpful and always willing to help though 10 out of 10 for their hospitality
Overall it was a good stay and it was our first time in Paris so we didn't know what to expect.. The functionality and lack of exhaust ventilation is a big thing for me as I am claustrophobic so may not bother others.
