How to Get There
My wife and I recently spent 2 1/2 weeks at HT. It is a fabulous hotel - great location, great facilities and wonderful staff. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Breakfast was exceptional in the Michelin star restaurant served by Katarina who is excellent. Rooms was quiet. Easy access to the Eiffel area plus St Germain and 6th. Delphine and Diva at reception were excellent including printing out 'avoid the line' tickets.
Room was small but very nice, The bathroom was large and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The only thing we did not like was the breakfast. The breakfast was VERY expensive, over $30 for a consant, bread, juice, and coffee. If you want eggs it'll cost you over $40. Even the restaurants on every corner only charge $15 for the same breakfast.
I had a lovely stay here until I realized I brought bed bugs home with me from the hotel. Having never been exposed to bed bugs before, I didn't check the beds there or think much of it when I left the hotel with a few bug bites. However, after being home for two days, I was covered in bites.
Then I found a bed bug nymph (a baby bed bug) in my home shortly after I returned from this hotel in Paris. A pest control company came and confirmed I had an early stage bed bug infestations and that the timing lined up with my visit to this hotel in Paris.
When I reached out to the hotel to inquire if they had bed bugs, they ignored me for days. I sent three emails and had to contact the third party who I booked the hotel through to intervene before I received a response from the hotel, in which they dismissed my concerns saying that I hadn't complained about this soon enough.
But bed bugs don't work that way. Bed bug bites can take up to 14 days to show up so it's possible to get them and not notice you have them for several days or weeks. In addition, 30-40% of the population don't have any reaction to bed bug bites so some people don't even show any symptoms.
Since returning from this hotel, I've spent $2,000 treating my home from bed bugs and have endured incredible stress from this incident. The hotel refused to take any responsibility or grant me a refund.
Save your money and preserve your peace of mind and stay elsewhere. Trust me, you DON'T want to get bed bugs. There are plenty of other nice places to stay in Paris.
So many good things to say, with superlatives, about location, welcoming, service, rooms. Atmosphere is chic, stylish, magic! Having the famous brasserie in the hotel is fantastic.
The breakfast in the 2-stars Michelin restaurant makes you forget the standard buffets of hotel chains. You must try it. Great experience.
This is a cosy and comfortable boutique hotel in the 7th arrondisement, within walking distance to Champs de Mars and the Army Museum/Invalides. The facilities were very clean although the room (we were in 8) was small (for Parisian standards, ok, but for North Americans, small). If you want an experience less touristy than say, being off Champs Elysees this is right for you - there are a plethora of shops and restaurants frequented by locals. Conveniently, there are 2 grocery stores within 2 minutes' walk and at least 2 boulangeries/patisseries nearby if you need your Vienoisseries in the morning. Around the corner is a laundromat open until 10 pm, if you need to wash and dry your clothes. La Tour Maubourg metro station is a short walk away. Remarkably, the rooms are very quiet (they advertise that they are soundproofed, and I believe it!). The only downside is that you need to traverse up at least 2 flights of narrow stairs so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues (no lifts). The staff will help you with suitcases, if needed.
