With 20 arrondissements to explore, and each offering a different character, visitors to Paris can be forgiven for not knowing where to start. Why not kick things off in the second arrondissement? With the Opéra Garnier and the National Library, this neighborhood may just be first when it comes to culture. It’s also home to Hôtel Square Louvois, a regal four-star boutique hotel. Staying here, you’ll be right next to the historical shopping arcades, as well as the city’s centers of banking and business.
The Bourse (stock exchange) may be right outside, but the real riches are within the hotel, where breathtaking Art Deco details complement classic and elegant French design. There’s plenty of that Parisian cool, too, with velvet curtains, chandeliers and, of course, an essential coffee machine in every room. A swimming pool with a hydro-massage bench and an herbal tearoom are all hidden in the stone vaults below, meaning there’s even more to this luxe hotel than meets the eye.
The tasteful design in the guest rooms here really steals the show, with velvet curtains adding a luxurious touch to the chic Parisian décor. You’ll find oak flooring, Parisian tapestries and copper finishes, all set against a backdrop of soothing blues and natural wooden tones. The Classic rooms range from 160-200 square feet, while the Superior rooms offer a bit more space, measuring in at 190-225 square feet.
Slide into one of the colorful banquettes in the dining room, and savor the delicious breakfast and afternoon tea on offer here. Wake up to an assortment of pastries and breads, or enjoy a French-style afternoon snack, with cakes, pastries and gourmet teas.
Thanks to the privacy of its stone vaults, the wellness area at Hôtel Square Louvois has an incredibly serene, traquil vibe. Underneath the exposed stonework, you’ll find a swimming pool with a hydro-massage bench, a sauna, an herbal tearoom for a post-treatment pick-me-up and a menu of therapies and massages that can even be enjoyed in your guestroom. Cardio machines are also available for when you want to up the tempo.
Taking its name from its location at the heart of the second arrondissement, Hôtel Square Louvois is well placed for visiting the major cultural sites of Paris. You can start with the nearby Opéra Garnier and Place de la Madeleine, and then continue on through the Haussmannian streets to see what other treasures the City of Light has in store for you.
How to Get There
A central hotel with wonderful staff and a great location. Situated in the heart of the Asian quarter, the hotel was perfectly placed for both sightseeing to landmarks and for business purposes. The rooms while small were adequate and clean. We had 3 completely different rooms in total... some facing the street which were often loud and noisy and another facing the internal courtyard which was larger but dark. Beds were extremely comfy and all amenities provided!
Breakfast was good and had a small supply of everything but the wonderful afternoon free tea time was well received by everyone. Different games on every table so you could relax in a small space but still feel a homely presence. Some of the guests were excessively loud which meant finding a quiet space difficult. The staff were incredible in every way ... and we’re happy to assist with everything.
Very charming hotel, perfectly located in the center of Paris. The hotel is very confortable with a really nice swimming pool on the basement. The staff is super attentive to the clients need. Excellent price quality ratio.
This was our first visit to Paris and we enjoyed it all the more having stayed at the Hotel Square Louvois! It is a gorgeous hotel, a hidden gem, on a quiet street by Square Louvois. It is within easy walking distance of the historic and beautiful Opera House and the Louvre. A bit further jaunt and you find yourself at l'Orangerie to see Monet's Water Lilies or the many delights of the Musee d'Orsay! Our room was supremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, and peaceful and quiet. I loved the French doors opening onto the French balcony! The welcoming champagne and departing macarons were much appreciated and an excellent touch. The breakfasts were very delicious and provided a good variety … bacon & eggs, a variety of cheeses and cold meats, yogurt, fresh fruit salad, and the freshly baked chocolate croissants and baguettes were to die for!! Made to order coffee … cappuccinos, lattes, etc. … were also a great start to the day! One of the BEST aspects of staying at the Hotel Square Louvois … and there were many … was the staff!! They went above and beyond in warmth, helpfulness, and fine service rendered graciously. We have especially fond memories of our breakfast staff and the front desk staff … they made us feel so welcome and at home!! We cannot say enough about our wonderful stay here … it holds an important place in our beautiful memories of Paris!
a terriffic vacation in a wonderfull city.
the hotel is located perfetly, the staff is very freindly and makes you fell very very wellcome. amazing breakfest, and a very nice swimming pool.
i will defently return.
Square Louvois is a clean crisp hotel that embodies the atmosphere of literary Paris of the 1920s. In an ideal location in the 2nd arrondissement on a park-like square of the same name. You're about 10 minutes walk from the Louvre and 5 minutes from the Opera Metro station. Ideal both for exploring the center of Paris or more distant places because Opera Metro links you to all transportation. Our room was large. very clean and completely quiet even with the window open. Staff is very helpful and neighborhood is a paradise of restaurants. John G. Kailua Hawaii
