Arrived at 9:30 pm to check in. Gentleman at front desk not very nice. No "welcome to the hotel" or any directions how to get to our room. Said there was welcome drink upon arrival. We were offered coffee. Got to room on tiny elevator. Room very nice. Super cute. Mini safe in room. Breakfast was delicious and included in our price. Loved the location of the hotel too! Checked out and I guess we owed taxes on the room, but their credit cards were apparently going to be down for 3 days so they wanted cash. No offer of writing down our cc # to input later. Gave man dollars to cover the tab which he was not happy about. Women who worked was very nice!

Lovely place to stay if you aren't very big

This is a lovely hotel at a very reasonable price. It has a theatre/opera theme to the decor, an excellent breakfast included in the price, Wi-Fi, a coffee maker in the room, plus coffee and water available any time in the lobby. The location is good -- walking distance from Gare du Nord, rue La Fayette, the Opera, and some good restaurants. It's in the Pigalle district, which doesn't have the greatest reputation, but seems to be a lot more upscale than in the past. We would not hesitate to visit the area again and would say it's now quite family friendly.

The biggest (or smallest?) drawback to the hotel is the size of the bathrooms! If you are claustrophobic you will hate the shower and if you are six feet tall you will have trouble using the toilets! Seriously -- your knees will hit the wall. They are that small. I am not kidding. Otherwise the room was fine, other than some mismatched furniture.

The staff was outstanding and the price was good. I would call this a three star rather than a four star, despite the good amenities, with the caveat about the bathrooms. I am not kidding about the size. If you are above 5'11" or so, you might rate this down to two stars.

We only stayed one night, so I can't really rate the cleaning staff, but the reception staff were superb -- professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Hotel filled with character

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as part of our Europe trip.

- helpful staff at the reception desk
- great breakfast
- comfortable beds
- wifi available everywhere
- good hot water
- easy walking distance to the metro

- not enough space for people with long legs (not a problem for me) to sit straight on the toilet due to the location of the wall

Would definitely stay here again

Not even close to being a 4 star.

My husband and I stayed here along with a friend in 2 rooms for one night. The location is full of shady looking people and sex shops. Some have called the lobby eclectic, I thought it was weird. The man who checked us in was not about customer service or friendliness but one word answers. As we checked out our friends room there was loud sex sounds coming from across the hall, which I know can happen anywhere but the whole experience altogether felt grungy and dirty staying here. Would not recommend, did not feel safe or clean. Was happy to check out. Maybe could be called a 2 star.

Nice room, breakfast and staff

Room was big compare to other hotel. Nice breakfast and staff. Shower was really small compare to other hotel. Good location. Free wifi. Really small elevator. A lot of store/shop/restaurant within walking distance.
