Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg
What We Love
- A quirky boutique hotel in the heart of Paris' romantic Latin quarter, with breakfastMaking the most of your central Paris location – on the Left Bank, right by the Luxembourg Gardens
- The elegant neo-classical style of the décor
- Feasting on French classics at the in-house Brasserie, Le Luco
What To Know
- Rooms are cozy but typical given Parisian standards
- Notre Dame and the Louvre are within walking distance
- Despite its position on Boulevard St. Michel, rooms are quiet
- Free WiFi works well
Any of Paris’ arrondissements merit time spent exploring, but the fifth, around the dynamic Latin Quarter, deserves a special mention. This historic central area, one of the oldest in the French capital, is close to the bohemian district of Saint-Germain, with its street artists and macaron shops, the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens and the iconic, groomed Sorbonne.
Right in the heart of it all, you’ll find the boutique Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg. With 41 rooms, the hotel is intimate and utterly Parisian, with a neo-classical flavor, furnishings by French designers and a renowned in-house brasserie. When you’re not savoring French specialties at the hotel, you’ll find every type of cuisine in the warren of streets off Place St Michel – plus some seriously cool late-night bars.
How to Get There
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel, which is very well located. The rooms are also stylish. However, in my room, there was barely space to move around the bed. From the pictures on the website, it was not possible to detect this problem in advance. For this price I expect more...
I arrived at this hotel very late at night and I informed them about this to which their response was very quick.
The welcome I received was very warm and the man at the desk made me feel welcome.
The room was stunning and was incredibly clean and well maintained throughout my short stay. The decor and atmosphere of the room and overall hotel made it even better.
The staff couldn't have been better. They were so friendly and made my stay in Paris all the better. Nothing was too much for them and they always made sure I was comfortable and happy.
The hotel is located right next to a train station which helps you with direct links to other parts of Paris city centre. Very convenient.
I am so glad I decided to stay here. I have been travelling round Europe and this hotel rounded it all off very well.
Thank you for an amazing stay! Merci!!!
I'm very happy I chose this hotel, perfect for a solo traveler spending a cold January weekend in Paris. The room, standard double, was very cosy, I loved the bed and it was very nice to be able to make myself a cup of coffee in the morning. The room wasn't big, but more important was the feeling it gave me - very welcoming. I had a great evening view to the Pantheon, and just across the street is the Luxembourg Park, lovely also in winter. I would very much like to recommend this hotel, and I'm actually coming back in March.
The staff booked, before our visit, our New Year's Eve dinner reservation for us after making some restaurant recommendations. They recommended shops and restaurants; called taxis; and were all around very friendly and helpful.
We had two rooms for a family of four, including two teenagers. One room was quite small, the other a little larger. Both had twin beds, which is what we had requested. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spotless, and the beds comfortable. The showers were hot and strong. The smaller room had a towel warmer, which was nice. The hotel was an easy walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Seine in one direction, and the catacombs in another direction. We were across from Le Jardin de Luxembourg, which is supposed to be quite beautiful, but was closed in the winter. Hotel staff were pleasant, helpful, and spoke English. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there were plenty of bakeries and cafes around for morning coffee and pain au chocolate. I would definetly stay here again.
