A chic boutique hotel stay in Paris’ romantic fifth arrondissement – Valentine's dates available

The Lowdown

Any of Paris’ arrondissements merit time spent exploring, but the fifth, around the dynamic Latin Quarter, deserves a special mention. This historic central area, one of the oldest in the French capital, is close to the bohemian district of Saint-Germain, with its street artists and macaron shops, the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens and the iconic, groomed Sorbonne.
Right in the heart of it all, you’ll find the boutique Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg. With 41 rooms, the hotel is intimate and utterly Parisian, with a neo-classical flavor, furnishings by French designers and a renowned in-house brasserie. When you’re not savoring French specialties at the hotel, you’ll find every type of cuisine in the warren of streets off Place St Michel – plus some seriously cool late-night bars.

What can I say? Lovely staff , fabulous location, comfortable rooms! I have stayed here three times and I will return in September. The location couldn’t be closer to the metro . The Luxembourg gardens are right across the street, the neighborhood is wonderful. The staff are so friendly. The cafe is perfect . Great beds and bedding ! He reviens!

Lovely hotel in a great location

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in June 2018. The hotel is lovely and in a great location for exploring the wider city due to it being directly opposite a metro station. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful and communication with the hotel before and during our stay was good. The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was the size of our room, i thought it might have been a little bigger but small rooms in Paris seems to be very common and it didnt make a difference to our stay.

The St Michel area is a beautiful part of the city with many bars and resturants nearby, we were so glad we picked this hotel as there were so many to choose from in many different areas of Paris! I would stay in tbis hotel again.

Thanks again,

Great hotel in perfect location

This elegant little hotel had a super friendly, helpful front desk, and our room was charming with a great bathroom (yes, the rooms here aren't humongous, but that's just Paris. The Louvre got all the space:) We were able to walk to several tourist sites with ease, walked for dinner to the Latin Quarter, and the delicious breakfast buffet downstairs in Le Luco was gobbled up by our whole family. We apologize for eating so many croissants. They were like magical buttery clouds. We had room service for dinner one night from Le Luco too, and it was excellent. Great A/C system too. If you are visiting Paris in the hot months, A/C in the room can feel like a minor-miracle.

Nice hotel in a good location.

The hotel was small but very pleasant with friendly and helpful staff. The room was a little cramped and apart from the wardrobe there wasn’t enough storage for clothing but the bed was comfortable, our room (at the back of the hotel) had a nice view of a garden and the air con was very efficient. Breakfast was €15 and included lots of choice of breads, pastries, hot food, cereals etc. The location was great for walking to the Luxembourg gardens, to the Seine or the Latin Quarter. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Comfortable Hotel in an excellent location

We stayed in this hotel to be near both the Luxembourg RER Station to Charles de Gaulle airport and the Montparnasse Train Station where we were to arrive from Tours and the Loire valley. In addition to being well situated for both of these, it is also in a pleasant, safe and lively area, across the street from the Luxembourg Gardens and an easy walk to the Seine and Paris's main tourist sites. In other words it's in a great location. Our room was comfortable, recently appointed with a nicely updated washroom, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast good. We would happily stay here again.
