Great Location
clw290

I recently stayed 5 nights at Hotel Malte as a solo traveller.

LOCATION
The hotel location is perfect - around 10 minutes on foot from the Musée Louvre and Palais Garnier. In fact it was so handy that I only used around half of my 10 metro tickets over the 5 days. It is easy to walk to and from the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower and Montmartre etc as long as you are reasonably mobile (and have comfortable shoes!). There are numerous metro stops within a few minutes walk and I never felt unsafe in the vicinity of the hotel on my own at night.

ROOMS
It’s Paris so I expected the room to be small, particularly as I had booked to late to get a double so went for a single. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The bed was larger than a UK single but not quite a double and there was plenty of floor space so the room did not feel at all cramped. The only thing lacking was perhaps drawers for clothing as there is only a small rail and a rather high shelf above.
The bathroom was compact but adequate with a good shower over a small bathtub. Great lighting and mirrors in the bathroom!
The bed was comfortable with a firm mattress which I prefer but the pillows could have been a bit softer.
The room was quite warm and the aircon is only operational in the summer but opening the window worked fine.

SERVICE
I received a very friendly welcome on arrival and this was also the case when coming downstairs each morning and on arriving back to the hotel after being out for the day. The entrance to the hotel is locked and monitored by staff to let guests in for security but I never had to wait for a response.

FOOD & DRINKS
The hotel does not have a restaurant but serves an adequate breakfast each morning. This is mostly continental with the addition of bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. The quality of the food was probably more on the basic than gourmet side but there was a decent variety.
In the afternoon and evening the breakfast is replaced by a snack bar which is included in the room rate. This has some savoury snacks along with cakes/pastries and soft drinks. Guests can also use the snack bar at other hotels in the same chain during their stay. There could have been a bit more variety, such as fresh fruit, however there was a carrefour about a block away which sold a good variety of other snacks.
A mini bar containing soft drinks is also provided in the bedrooms and is replenished daily.

I really enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to return.

One of the best places to stay in Paris

This hotel is fantastic and the staff is one of the nicest hotel staffs I've ever experienced. The breakfast was included, since we booked directly through the hotel's website and is delicious. The location is very good (10 minute walk to the Oprah house).
I will stay there again the next time I'm in Paris.
