How to Get There
Location close to Louvre and Musee d'Orsay and many welcoming bistros this was perfect for walking around. Staff was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and helpful All were very good but Julie and Nisrene (sp?) stood out. Base rooms not large but serviceable. Good breakfast, "Open Bar" (non-alcoholic) and comp mini bar were unexpected and welcome additions.
I wanted to create a memorable mother-daughter trip to Paris. Emily did the activity planning, and we had a fabulous two weeks. Hotel Malte was perfect for us. A quick walk to the Louvre, to restaurants, and to public transportation. We felt safe walking there. Breakfast was included, and now I am so spoiled! Always a lovely variety of French pastries, and delicious breads every day. Three different types of juice. It's a serve yourself arrangement, and every morning there were eggs and bacon or sausage, or some other type of hot food. I just loved the offering of many kinds of French cheeses and deli meats, fruit etc. Excellent waitstaff to help with coffee and any other needs--so friendly and helpful. When Khaled saw us coming, he alway got our American-type coffee started right away...and every day he tried to teach me some more French words while bringing us the coffee. He is a very patient man. :) The other serving staff was equally efficient and helpful. Something especially nice: the breakfast area becomes a an open beverage and snack area for the rest of the day, with tea, coffee, sparkling water, pastries, cookies, some salty-type snacks, and usually a lovely tart or cake. Many of our days were long, we'd return at 10pm or so, and it was so nice to be able to sit down to a treat. When we checked in, we were given a card with the names and locations of the other Astotel Hotels, and we could have stopped in at any of them for refreshments during the day. What other hotel offers that?
What else...the room was kept very clean. Ours was #508 and small (I opted for the less expensive option but they do have larger rooms) but our bathroom was lovely. I appreciated the sense of security, and the pleasant staff at the front desk who spoke excellent English. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Paris.
Loved this hotel-friendly young staff welcomed us warmly....someone was always at the desk to confirm our day trips, dinner reservations and to print up walking directions in English-hotel is perfectly placed near several historic sites and we were able to walk to the louvre, musee Dorsey, and the opera house-metro nearby-breakfast yummy!A great stay despite a VERY tiny room!
Hotel was in a quieter part of Paris, easy walk to the Louvre. We walked everywhere from here. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic and a great way to start the day. If you were back in the afternoon, the hotel had afternoon tea with snacks. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at again should we return to Paris.
The location is wonderful. The hotel is clean and well kept. The breakfast is a lovely sit down full meal. Most importantly, the staff can really help you with any needs you have! It is like staying with friends in Paris. I would highly recommend this hotel to first time travelers to Paris. I emailed with a few questions before our trip which were answered promptly and fully. We got some wonderful dinner recommendations from the staff at the front desk. We also got help planning our return trip to the train station. We do not speak French so the fact that the managers all spoke wonderful English was a tremendous help to us as we practiced our basic French. I will stay at this hotel when we return to Paris. The snacks and drinks in the afternoon are a really homey addition to normal hotel service.
