How to Get There
This is Mc Gallery hotel what means unique design, comfortable rooms and very very nice atmosphere. Staff is very polite, always helpfull, and rooms are nice. Bed is big, comfortable and calls for a good sleep. Bathroom is also spacious and clean.
I am an Accor Platinum member. We had pre-booked 2 separate stays In Hotel L'Echiquier Opera Paris prior to departing Australia, a 1 night & a 3 night stay. For convenience we had breakfast in the hotel for the overnight staying under the assumption it was a free breakfast as is the case for Platinum members in Australia & Asia. Upon checking out I was surprised it wasn't free & didn't receive a friendly or informative response even though I was happy to pay for it. Upon returning for our second stay we found ourselves in the most furthest away room in a terrible position & the staff made a point of telling us on check-in that it wasn't a free breakfast. They made us feel unwelcomed & we really regretted staying there even though. The customer service was terrible and has made me question my loyalty to the Accor group. It was about the reception we received from the staff and the fact we felt like we were shoved out the back to teach us a lesson. I will not recommend this hotel as customer service should be the highest priority as that is what always brings return travellers. Its a shame.
I stayed several times at this hotel whenever I’m in Paris.
Usually the rooms are comfortable and spacious, however you might end up in smaller rooms, so double check on this when making the reservation.
The reception staff is always very kind and responsive. The staff at the breakfast restaurant is very nice and fast, and the breakfast variety is consistent with lots of pastries, jams, fresh orange and grapefruit juices. You can find scrambled eggs, but I’ve never asked for poached eggs or a omelette, so not sure if they make them. The cappuccino ain’t great though.
The rooms are clean and quiet.
The location is very good and you can find good restaurants nearby.
