Not as nice as I had hoped
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This was my fourth visit to Paris but the first for my best friend.

I love the area of Saint Germain so looked for a nice hotel with a reasonable price tag.

Prior to arrival the hotel had always responded promptly to any emails I sent.

When we arrived the exterior looked nice and very traditional. The reception area is small but pleasant.

Our room was on the 5th floor (52) and had a balcony which was a bonus. The room was spacious with separate toilet and bathroom. However, there were no locks on with the toilet or the bathroom???? This was very odd and inconvenient.

There was one tiny bottle of warm mineral water waiting for us and no tea/coffee making facilities.

The bathroom was basic but not what I’d expect from a 4star hotel.

Beds were comfy with amazing pillows. The tv didn’t have any Uk channels which is odd as most have a least BBC NEWS 24!!!!

On our first night we were woke by some inconsiderate guests banging in our door at 11.45pm and laughing. This happened several time and when I called reception to complain they knew exactly who it was??? This ruined our first nights sleep and is the main reason for this low score.
Who ever it was ‘visiting’ the room next to us only stayed an hour maximum....make of that what you will.

You have an old fashioned key to the rooms which you must hand back in each time you go out and with no safe in the room I did feel our possessions were vulnerable.

The room was big for Paris and the beds were lovely but it’s not what I’ve come to expect from a 4 star establishment.

I don’t think I’ll book again to be honest.

homely yet elegant hotel

We've been staying in Paris hotels for years but this is one of the very nicest. It's an unassuming place but the atmosphere is very welcoming and the room (a classic double room, no 36 on the third floor) is narrow yet long and spacious with fine old furniture, and very quiet, with french windows onto a courtyard at the back (but not much of a view). A place to go back to.

The hotel is in a convenient location. The reception desk staff is not as warm and helpful except for one lady. They’d do what was asked ( like printing boarding passes...) but without a smile. Room is good sized but very plain and lacks the few basics such as a kettle and coffee/tea in the room, daily water bottle refill...Breakfast is adequate but very few choices. The helpers disappeared in the kitchen after bringing you the coffee, bread, croissants and juice. Eggs are available for an extra 4 Euros just like a cup of coffee from the reception area. Overall, a nice and pleasant hotel but not much to write about.

Nice hotel with super service

As her 14th birthday present my daughter spent a couple of days with a friend and her family in Paris. She had a wonderful time and she was full of praise for the great room she stayed in with her friend, how lovely everybody was and how close the hotel was to everything. As being only 14, not everything she took to Paris came back with her. The hotel could not have been nicer, helping to find the missing items, posting them and checking if all was received. What a wonderful service, far beyond what one could have asked for. Thank you to all the staff and we will definately be staying with you and say thank you in person when we are next in Paris. Kind regards Anya

Charming Boutique Hotel

Hotel Le Saint-Grégoire is in the heart of the Rive Gauche (Left Bank), in the sixth arrondissement, within walking distance of the Palais & Jardins (Gardens) du Luxembourg and Tour (Tower) Montparnasse, with shopping and restaurants (we enjoyed the Hippopotamus Steakhouse). Our 3 night stay included a continental breakfast, served in a charming vaulted cellar dining room. The staff was polite, helpful and accommodating. One morning, because we were leaving before breakfast, the desk clerk kindly sent up a pot of coffee to our 6th floor room, on a tray in the cozy elevator. They also arranged a car to take us to CDG Airport.
