Good Location.. But hotel needs to improve the service
Reviewed 1 month ago

I have been stating at different locations in paris. This hotel is absolutely at the centre of Paris. Most of the tourist location is within 15-20 mins of walk and metro station is just 200 metres from hotel. Lot of eating options around. So good if you plan to be out most of the times. But if you plan to stay in hotel, the rooms are very very small (Ok for single person). Breakfast is OK with not many options. One day they ran out of eggs. Also WiFi is pathetic. The only time I was using WiFi was at night by it hardly worked. This was the case for 4 other colleagues who were staying at the same hotel. At reception Mr. Burnardo was good but he can't be held responsible for everything. Management needs to really think about the service they provide including breakfast as per the cost they charge. Either improve service or reduce the tarriff.

Small but perfectly located

Starting with the negatives....the room was very small, the shower tiny and the lift claustrophobic. Personal gripes.....a hairdryer in the bathroom (can't dry your hair until the bathroom is free, steamed up mirror etc) and no power socket by a mirror.....now the positives. Absolutely fantastic staff, they were friendly, helpful and fabulous. The hotel is in the perfect location, within walking distance to the metro and most major attractions of Paris.

The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, fresh orange juice and the breakfast room set into the basement area was great.

The area around the hotel is great, boutique shops, cafes, bistro's and a huge amount of cake shops (fantastic!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book here again. We found some great bars, pubs and restaurants and can't wait to come back again when we have more time to explore.

Service was exceptional.

Whilst we were very disappointed in the room size, and found it necessary to move hotels, the reception not only advised but also assisted in our move to a more expensive hotel. The breakfast was excellent and had we not needed more space, Duc is ideal location, clean and good value, with wonderfully pleasant staff

Small hotel on a 5 star location

This hotel is situated in the center at a five minute walk from the Centre Pompidou and a 15 min walk from the Notre Dame. The Metro is 50 mtrs from the hotel. It is a small hotel with very friendly and helpful personnel.
There is a very small elevator that fits only 2 persons without luggage. You sometimes have to wait a long time for the elevator to come down to the reception as the cleaning personnel also uses this elevator.
Our quiet room was on the back side without any view but a (nice) drawing in a sort of hallway. It had a good working airco so no fresh air was required. The bathroom was clean and good. Closing the door to the room woke up the whole floor as it clamped.
Breakfast was very good.
We were surprised when we saw the room price on the back of the door, because the location is more then worth it but not the room itself. Lucky for us we had a good package deal with a Dutch tour operator.
