How to Get There
Hotel d’Orsay offers a sophisticated stay near the d’Orsay museum in Paris. The hotel style is classical and has a refined decor.
The hotel is littered with lovely oil paintings at its lobby as well as the bedrooms. I especially love the balcony where I can see the Parisian streets. The hotel itself is situated at a quiet and peaceful corner, however not far from the museums and the River Seine.
The service was friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. Maps, and umbrellas were freely available especially, which was useful during the wet summer. I enjoyed the breakfast, with delightful selections of jam and cheese for my taking.
I very much love the hotel’s amenities, I love the bath products for the guests. They seem expensive, and of high quality. I would love to come and revisit Hotel d’Orsay in the near future.
We could not have been more pleased during our recent stay. The hotel is located in the heart of Paris, one block from the Musee d'Orsay and only minutes from the Seine, Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral. But it was the wonderful hotel staff whom we will always remember the most--kind, gracious, and very responsive to our needs. They saw to every detail. We will always remember them as the perfect hosts that they were. We highly recommend Hotel d'Orsay and we cannot wait to go there again.
I have spent one night in this Hotel.
Fantastic location in the center of Paris, in hidden street so there is no traffic and you can sleep well till late.
Many kind of rooms, I suggets to book a bigger one.
This time I had the need to have my room before than scheduled and they have found a good solution for me, so I could drop my luggage and be free.
The Hotel d'Orsay can be your best choice ever when it comes to Paris hotels. There are numerous reason for this which I'll briefly enumerate here:
1. Quality of the property is first-class. The staff and management see to all details. The rooms are decent size and the price is quite good in comparison to others. The least expensive (Club) is adequate for a single occupant overnight but it would be worthwhile to upgrade to the Classic room where two people can live comfortably for multiple days (20 Euros extra).
2. Location is superb if you are on holiday and plan on spending time at the Louvre, Orsay, Legion of Honor museums. A walk to the Orsay will take about 5 minutes and the Louvre is about 15 minutes. The hotel is only a few minutes from the on-off bus and the on-off Seine River cruise boat.
3. There are 5 very nice bistros within a couple blocks.
4. Subway 2 blocks.
5. Running or walking on the path along the Seine is excellent. You may also like the park across the river for walking or running. Walking bridge across river is across the street.
We spent about a week at this hotel and never found it necessary to use a taxi. Walking and/or using the on/off bus or boat gave us all the mobility we needed.
Our visit to Paris this time was about a perfect as anyone would expect and the Hotel d'Orsay was a major reason for this.
Good luck with your planning and travels, au revoir.
Stayed here early January and I couldn't have asked for more. Comfiest bed I've ever slept in and all the staff were so welcoming. Perfect location for anything you could want in Paris! As we were only staying two nights I left the do not disturb sign on the door during the day and took it down when we got back. When we came back from dinner our room had been serviced which was surprising so late, Thank you.
