Very disappointing

The blurb on the internet showed an attractive hotel. This was far from the truth. On the third room we found one that was passable. The first two were dirty and very shoddy with frayed upholstery and smelling of smoke. (it is supposed to be a smoking free hotel). The hotel is poorly managed (if at all) and unloved, unkempt and unchecked. No management was visible during our stay. I would never return

I’ve stayed at this hotel before and would do again. It’s very difficult to rate. The location is perfect and the staff are lovely so I would give it 5!!. However I understand others reviews referring to dilapidation of the rooms. The shower taps etc are so old they flood water around the bath which in turn leads to where obvious damp patches have occurred. Carpets are stained and wallpaper falling off. Lamps are broken with wonky shades etc. There is a balance between quaint and adds to the charm and It really does need a makeover!! Therefore I can only realistically give the hotel a 3. If you’re not fussed as to the finish of the rooms I would recommend it.

Laughable Hotel - No way is this place 5*
Reviewed 2 months ago

If you are after a 5* hotel experience, or indeed a half-decent hotel experience, avoid this place completely. It is so bad, it is actually quite amusing. Creaky floorboards, worn out vintage stripey furniture, old frayed carpets, floral wallpaper... This place oozes hideousness. They've got two options; refurb the hell out of it, or simply change it to a nursing home targeting old people so bereft of sense and style they will be happy here.

Aside from the fact it looks decrepit, there is no gym, no spa, no bar, no irons in the rooms, no shoe shine. 5* whaaaaattttt? When i checked into my room late at night, the ambient temperature was 26c. And surprise surprise, the AC didn't work. Changed rooms, a slightly less balmy 23c. Again, despite being told repeatedly the AC was working, it simply wasn't. Bring on a sleepless night. Opened the window obviously which made the sweet wake up call of the building site opposite all that louder at 6AM.... Not too worry, a refreshing shower will wake me up. Ah... The shower head is fixed at chest height..... So a nice early morning squat workout too.. Jesus, what a joke. The 5* experience contrinued with my morning beverage ritual. The kettle has to be located next to the plug socket as the cord was so short. And of course, once brewed, there was no milk or sweetner. LOLZ. The staff were completely uninterested in dealing with any of these issues when I mentioned them. My colleague staying in a separate room was enjoying the 5* experience too. He stood on a big screw when he got out the shower, and got sprayed by hot water with a faulty iron. Well, at least it made for a funny swap of anecdotes over breakfast....

I've said enough. Day two was along the same lines. What a disaster zone this place is. Upon check out I was however given a VERY GENEROUS 6EUR off my bill - the cost of a drink I'd had in the sweltering heat of my room.

So in summary. If you are a fan of great hotels but wish to understand what rubbish hotels are like, stay here. If you enjoy sado-masichism, stay here. Or perhaps if you are a film production unit looking to find a set for the staging of an 80's style haunted house film, you could get in touch with this hotel.

A little gem in Paris - very well located
Reviewed 2 months ago

We pre booked a family suite and got great rates.
The location on Champs Elysee is awesome. Close to the shops, cafes and restaurants. Close to the Arc D Triumph.
It is old school and not a modern day five star hotel however the staff were great and speak good English.
The rooms are functional and work. We had two single beds put in for the kids aged 4 and 7.
The Bath was an enormous spa bath with Jets.
Mini bar
Shower gel
Free wifi
1 hat restaurant downstairs - not child friendly
We had a great time
If you are looking for modern five star luxury this is more old school luxury.

Birthday trip to Paris

First impressions of this hotel were very good, friendly staff and super chic french interior very much to my style and taste. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The bathroom was elegant I enjoyed using the White Company bath products. The bed was super comfortable I had such a good sleep!.

The location is perfect! just off the busy Champs Elysees and near to two main metro station. This hotel is also close to a hop on hop off tour bus stop too!

I agree with some of the comments on trip advisor, although I think the dated look adds to the charm of the hotel, the price does not reflect this. Therefore, I think this hotel needs a re-vamp.

The service was really good. However, I wasn't too happy that I had to pay 5 euros to have milk in the room, what is the point in having free drink making facilities if you can't make a drink without paying for milk?

The curtains in our room needed fixing, this didn't bother me! I just thought it would be worth mentioning, this is probably due to the material being so heavy.

You could tell that the fixtures in the bathroom were really worn, especially the ceramics on the taps/ shower head.

Nevertheless, I would certainly come back to this hotel.
