Overview

19th-century Paris townhouse hotel with sleek contemporary decor, just moments from the Champs-Elysées

The Lowdown

On a peaceful Paris street, moments from the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe, Hotel Balmoral is perfectly placed for exploring the city’s best sights. Located in a 19th-century Haussmann-style building, the hotel has plenty of period features, including wrought iron balconies and a small courtyard garden. The sleek lobby (which doubles as the bar) is a mix of elegance and contemporary decor; expect plush cream sofas, patterned cushions, a modern firepit and abstract sculptures. The spacious guestrooms are decked out in silky peach-cream tones, while bright scatter pillows (in oranges, yellows and sea-blues) keep things stylish. Descamps bed linens add a touch of luxury; opt for a higher category room for views of the courtyard and plush Egyptian cotton bathrobes.

In the Area

Hotel Balmoral is within walking distance of plenty of iconic Paris neighborhoods and sights. Climb the nearby Arc de Triomphe for an unparalleled view of Paris’s main axis, which runs from the courtyard of the Louvre to La Défense. Also close by is the Champs-Elysées, full of popular boutiques and stores; make time for some world famous macarons from the beautiful Ladurée patisserie. At night take your nearest and dearest for a meal at the celebrated Fouquet’s restaurant. A favorite with Parisian celebs, including the current president, it maintains the standards of its glorious past.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel on our 25:th wedding anniversary. Friendly staff, nice interior and good location. There were free coffe, croissants and umbrellas when needed. We highly recommend it!

This is a great little hotel. We travelled as two couples and were so lucky to each be upgraded to suites. These consist of a sitting room with sofa, table, chair, 2 wardrobes, fridge and coffee machine; a double bedroom with armchair and wardrobe with safe, and our bathroom had a bath with separate shower. Lovely and quiet, great linens and kept really clean. Beds possibly a little hard for me but the pillows were fab!
We only had breakfast at the hotel on our second (last) day and wished we’d had it both days. It may seem expensive at €18 per person but it was great!
The staff were so friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very close l’arc de Triumph and the Metro.
A great base for exploring Paris.

With my parents our first time in Paris. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Charming well appointed hotel. Small rooms, great bathrooms, quiet. Nice linens. The location is really convenient-quiet street but super close (60 seconds walk to see it )to Arc and train. Small convenience store across the street when needed. Nice restaurants very close. We used Uber when venturing further out and it was easy as can be. Would recommend and go back without hesitation.

I would give this hotel seven stars if i could.

We went to Number One, the hotel's Michelin rated restaurant. It was perfect. Food is art, service is exquisite performance, decor is elegance. It is THE place for your special occasions. Do try the Tasting Menu; it is perfectly proportioned to give you a banquet of flavors and textures, seven courses, and you will be neither too full or still hungry.
