Bad customer service. Small/poorly decorated room
Nguyen G

The room is very small and kinda old. The bed is okay, clean. Location of hotel is close to lots of coffee shops and markets, and about 15-20 minutes walk to arc de triumph. I would have given it 4 stars if it wasn't for the bad customer service at the hotel. The manager specifically was very grumpy and rude to us. Maybe because we dont speak the French language so he was very stuck up. We bought some bread and was sitting down in the garden to work and eat our bread and was told that we cannot eat our own food in the garden because "this is not a picnic place". We were told that we have to go to our room to eat our own food. Im sure there is nicer way to handle the situation and I hope they will learn better customer service skills.

Will not return here.

Almost 5

Just left the Ampere and it was a good hotel. Extremely close to transportation and walking distance to many restaurants and the Arc de Trimophe and Champs Elysses. While a smaller hotel it was nice to do the triple so we could have bit more room and the bathroom was a big one as well. The reason why I have it 4 opposed to 5 was two things - one I asked for specific directions to take a train from Paris East to get to the champagne region. The hotel reception stated she knew exactly where and sadly gave us the wrong directions and we missed our train (we ended up taking a later train once we got the right info). Also I had some makeup on one night and fell asleep in it. The next day I noticed when she changed our sheets she just wiped the make up off and did not bother to put new pillow cases on at all so they can be washed - which to me was slightly disturbing. all in all - it was a nice hotel, good location and good value. Would suggest it.

Horrible Experience

We were booked in this hotel by Viking Cruise Lines. While the location was great, the room was dirty and stained with hideous decor. At one point one of the cleaning staff just let herself in the room while we were in there. Knocked and didn’t wait for an answer just came right on in! But the worst was late afternoon on our last day when we discovered that the carpet on one side of the bed was soaking wet. Unfortunately my husband had his suitcase and backpack sitting on the floor and everything inside was soaked. It was along the shared wall with the bathroom. The front desk sent up a young woman who was not apologetic at all and merely took photos and said the maintenance man had left for the day. We left for dinner, came back and checked in with her (she was working the front desk) at which point she told us we were wrong and the floor was not wet! I lost it at that point and gave her a talk about customer service. The night manager was then sent to our room and had a slightly better attitude but still not helpful. They said they were full and would not move us to another room. Did not offer to assist with drying my husband’s things-we did it with the hairdryer. The next morning when we checked out, the same night manager was on duty and asked “How was your stay?” Give me a break. DO NOT STAY HERE.
