How to Get There
Booked via Jetsetter.com. Extremely well located - within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and metro across the street. Many restaurants, a bakery, pharmacy all within walking distance. Rooms were small and expected for Paris. Decent breakfast included. Lounge area was comfortable. Part of our booking was included bottle of wine. We didn’t receive it - even though we had raised it with the front desk on two occasions. Sadly nothing was done - We had 2 rooms booked for our family. Other than that..good value for the dollar through jetsetter.com
Wonderful and helpful staff. Location very good and across the street from the metro. Ask for a room on an upper floor for view of Eiffel Tower. Room small (except suite) with little storage. Challenging for couples there for longer stays. Good shower and comfortable bed.
I travel a lot and I have stayed in so many types of hotels in Europe, North and South America; and Africa. Based on my experience, this hotel is between a 2* and 3* hotel when compared to hotels in a similar city in Germany, Austria, Spain, Nigeria, Switzerland or Italy.
It wasn't the worst stay in my life so I'll talk about the pros and cons:
+ The hotel overall is nice, clean, pleasant reception and good sized rooms compared to other hotels in Paris.
There's a subway station right in front of the hotel as well as a bus station that takes you directly to Champs Elysees.
- The bathroom is tiny. The shower door was a disaster. If you're a big guy or girl it will be very hard to enter and might be painful.
The black color of the room which is the concept of the hotel makes the room feel so suffocating and small.
The lights where twitching and were very irritating and I spoke three times to the receptionist with no solution.. saying that, the reception is not organized at all and they lost all my papers!! The receptionist even asked if I had the receipt of my security deposit!
Also, one lady was rude to me.
I told her about the twitching lights and her answer was this "you should've told us in the morning no one is available now"!! I told her it's fine and it can be fixed anytime I just wanted to let you know
And as I mentioned, nothing was solved!
Anyways if you want a hotel for a reasonable price with an access to subway and convenient stores, this is your hotel!
Other than that I'd recommend another area closer to tourist attractions
You can't get any closer to Public Transport than this.. Camborne Station at your doorstep.
Fantastic Location with easy access to all modes of Public Transport and nearby restaurants & cafes.
Yes, lift & Rooms are small, which we found out we're standard. However, well maintained and good quality.
Reception team very helpful and assisted with Luggage storage.
Really enjoyed our short stay here.. Thanks to the First Hotel Team
