Anniversary in Paris
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

All I usually do not write reviews unless the experience has been truly exceptional. A little background …I have traveled extensively globally from Asia, Europe, South America and even Israel. I have stayed at small hotels and mega hotels. (e.g. Grand Hyatt Seoul) The hotel Champs Elysees Plaza was a great place to stay for 6 days in Paris.

The hotel is a boutique Paris hotel with tons of character and great people working there. The service is outstanding. The front desk was always pleasant and willing to give us a hand. This included giving directions booking tours cabs etc. If you want a great French boutique hotel experience then I highly recommend this hotel. It is not the Four Seasons or Fairmont but the service is on the same level.

Location:
It is within walking distance of shopping on the Champs Elysees and the Arche De Triomphe. The Yellow Line 1 which is an 8-minute walk away can take you to the Louvre and Musee de Orsay. If you stay on the train a bit longer you arrive at the Saint Paul Station/Le Marias which puts you within walking distance of the Picasso Museum. If you do go to the Picasso Museum be sure to stop in at the Parle Moi De Parfum. They have great men colognes/parfum. By the way train system is great when compared to Chicago or DC.

Service:
The service here was excellent. The people were caring and genuinely concerned that your stay at the hotel was pleasant. The doorman went out of his way to help me with an upset cabbie and walk me to the local ATM to get Euros since the cabs credit card machine was not working. The rooms were impeccably cleaned and spacious. The bathroom had a 2-person jacuzzi whirlpool tub and banging shower (as more daughter would describe it). The water pressure was high and the water was hot. Great!!! After long days of touring!

Nice stay but did not wow me

I do spend a lot of time researching where I stay - and when trawling Paris hotels it is not easy. I think there should be a different star system in Paris. Compared to others in Paris I can see why this hotel is a 5star- a lot of hotels are small and this was no exception - it only has 35 rooms and smaller than I expected, it does not compare to the large hotels in Paris but they are extortionate. The location of this hotel is in a small quiet side street off the Champs Elysee which has a few other hotels also including Hotel California whose lobby looked bigger and inviting however that was a 4 star. I do like a large atmospheric lobby and the smaller hotels obviously can’t deliver this although there was a restaurant open to the lobby here- a sofa area and also a bar. The staff were nice especially the night desk gentleman who spoke to us by name. The room was lovely and quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom very nice and roomy for the hotel size. As a 5 star hotel sundries were very expensive however, so when I saw a small supermarket a few doors down I had a look here and the water was 20 times cheaper ! I would recommend this hotel but if I was returning to Paris I might sample another for variety.

Perfect place to stay in Paris

I could not be more pleased that I chose to stay here for two nights; and I can't wait to come back!

My company has a small office in Paris, and since it was my first time visiting this office, it was important that I stayed somewhere within walking distance. As luck would have it, the Champs Elysees Plaza Hotel met that need.

It's in the 8th arrondissement and close to many tourist spots. However, you can walk the opposite direction and find yourself with the locals.

I arrived Sunday afternoon and was immediately greeted by an attentive front desk staff. When I took the small lift to my floor, I wasn't sure what to expect. After exiting the elevator, there were a set of double doors to open, and beyond that were 5-6 rooms per floor, ensuring a quiet stay.

When I opened the door to my room, I was giddy! The room was HUGE, and had a separate bathroom, which included a separate shower and a bathtub that could fit 3 people. The bed was incredibly comfortable.

The hotel has free wifi, a hotel and restaurant, although I didn't get a chance to check out either one.

The hotel staff recommended a couple of restaurants for me, and they did not disappoint. Again, I must say how lovely and helpful all the employees I interacted with were, they clearly enjoy their jobs.

I can't wait to come back!

The hotel is just off the Champs Elyees boulevard. Rooms are quite comfortable and the staff is great. Suggest that breakfast be added to your booking. Easy walk to get to the main streets. It's a 7 story boutique style/type of hotel.
