A magnet for Croatia’s young, fashion-conscious party set, Hvar is busy trying to position itself as the St. Tropez of the Adriatic, and the hip, 54-room Riva Hvar Yacht Harbour Hotel is exhibit A. Guestrooms feature views of either the historic old town or the marina and are styled to pay homage to the golden era of Hollywood, with oversized black-and-white images of silver screen stars such as Bridget Bardot and Audrey Hepburn gazing down from the headboards. The vibrant color scheme – lipstick red and burnt orange details – suits the fun-loving crowd that gathers in the waterfront BB Club to dance and flirt while the boats bob in the marina just a few feet away.
In the Area
Take a cue from the free-spirited Croatian kids and hit Jerolim Beach, on the lovely Paklina Islands, which has been named the number one nudist beach in the world. Then, ramble around the Roman ruins on the chain’s largest island, Vlaka. Head back to Hvar for umbrella drinks and DJ-spun tunes by the sand at the Hula Hula beach bar, where celebrities like Beyonce have been known bust a move. And if sleep’s really not on your agenda, join the legendary Full Moon Night parties at Carpe Diem nightclub.
How to Get There
Great location right by the marina which is very convenient if you take a ferry from split or a water taxi from one of the other islands like Palmizana. It is also very easy to walk from the hotel to many great restaurants and sites. The hotel does sit above a nightclub, but we were not bothered by the noise.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, but a bit dark.
My husband described the breakfast buffet as the best breakfast of our entire 3+ week trip. It was a plentiful buffet with cheeses, meats, fruits, cereals, pastries and several hot options. The buffet also included coffee, tea, juices and prosecco.
We enjoyed our short stay here.
This hotel was very nice and in a great location. the staff were great and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The views are the best thing. Watching all the cruisers come and go was amazing. The breakfast was good. The only thing is that the harbour view rooms are a little noisy at night with the music from the bar below. Apart from that is was great. We would stay here again.
The Conciërge (Petra) scammed us with a rental car. Unbelievable experience. We thought that someone who works for this hotel can be trusted and give us the best sevice. Instead of that, we got ripped of by the rental car company they work with (Mi&Ti rental cars, TIHO rental cars, Rent a Hvar). Old Citroën C3 (with 80000 km) for 100,- Euro excl. gasoline. When we brought it back, they found a little scratch on side what was not our fault (happened on the paid parking lot in Starigrad or Jelsa). We had to pay 200 Euro’s cash or if we wanted to pay by creditcard we had to pay 25% more. We asked before if the own risk was paid of and they said yes but that was not the case. So we told the conciërge Petra from riva Hvar harbour hotel the story and she actually did not care about it and did nothing for us. So don’t rent anything by these Companies because it’s a scam and they should be ashamed.
