A magnet for Croatia’s young, fashion-conscious party set, Hvar is busy trying to position itself as the St. Tropez of the Adriatic, and the hip, 54-room Riva Hvar Yacht Harbour Hotel is exhibit A. Guestrooms feature views of either the historic old town or the marina and are styled to pay homage to the golden era of Hollywood, with oversized black-and-white images of silver screen stars such as Bridget Bardot and Audrey Hepburn gazing down from the headboards. The vibrant color scheme – lipstick red and burnt orange details – suits the fun-loving crowd that gathers in the waterfront BB Club to dance and flirt while the boats bob in the marina just a few feet away.
In the Area
Take a cue from the free-spirited Croatian kids and hit Jerolim Beach, on the lovely Paklina Islands, which has been named the number one nudist beach in the world. Then, ramble around the Roman ruins on the chain’s largest island, Vlaka. Head back to Hvar for umbrella drinks and DJ-spun tunes by the sand at the Hula Hula beach bar, where celebrities like Beyonce have been known bust a move. And if sleep’s really not on your agenda, join the legendary Full Moon Night parties at Carpe Diem nightclub.
How to Get There
We had 5 nights at the Riva Yacht Harbour Hotel and we would certainly come back. From the moment we checked in with the receptionist, Sanja, the staff were great. The location is perfect, just where the Catamaran drops you off and a perfect people watching venue.
We had room 315 which was very spacious but not much of a view, but we didn't go to Hvar to be in the room. Breakfast was great too.
We were there during the world cup final an struggled to get a seat but the staff found us a nice table. Great service.
The location of this hotel is ideal, right in the heart of the harbor with a view of all the beautiful boats and short walking distance to the restaurants and nightlife. We had a lovely room overlooking the harbor. We found the size of the room nice and the noise from the club never bothered us once our heads hit the pillows. The lounge is a great spot to enjoy cocktails and people watch. Plus, they have Hendrick’s gin cocktails! Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was really lovely. We will definitely return.
Try it and for sure that you will enjoy.
The staff is really warm and helpful. I forgot a pair of shoes at the hotel and they sent it by ferry to my Dubrovnik hotel.
On the top of that in just few hours and packed nicely.
Thanks a lot
Was a little worried before staying here due to some of previous reviews.. some people will moan about anything. The staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough. It was very clean and finished to a high standard. Location couldn’t be more perfect! The only issue was noise... but given the location, it’s impossible to get away from. Will be back for sure!!
The location is right on the main promenade which made for very easy access to all the day trips, restaurants, activities that leave from Hvar Town. However, rooms are very tiny (and loud if you're on the water side), and service from hotel staff was sometimes short and not overly welcoming. The convenience of online booking was helpful, particularly due to Hvar's limited availability of accommodation during high season, but I'd look into some of this company's other properties on the island if we were to visit again.
