A magnet for Croatia’s young, fashion-conscious party set, Hvar is busy trying to position itself as the St. Tropez of the Adriatic, and the hip, 54-room Riva Hvar Yacht Harbour Hotel is exhibit A. Guestrooms feature views of either the historic old town or the marina and are styled to pay homage to the golden era of Hollywood, with oversized black-and-white images of silver screen stars such as Bridget Bardot and Audrey Hepburn gazing down from the headboards. The vibrant color scheme – lipstick red and burnt orange details – suits the fun-loving crowd that gathers in the waterfront BB Club to dance and flirt while the boats bob in the marina just a few feet away.
In the Area
Take a cue from the free-spirited Croatian kids and hit Jerolim Beach, on the lovely Paklina Islands, which has been named the number one nudist beach in the world. Then, ramble around the Roman ruins on the chain’s largest island, Vlaka. Head back to Hvar for umbrella drinks and DJ-spun tunes by the sand at the Hula Hula beach bar, where celebrities like Beyonce have been known bust a move. And if sleep’s really not on your agenda, join the legendary Full Moon Night parties at Carpe Diem nightclub.
How to Get There
If you like yacht / harbour type of hotel with minimalistic aproach this is your choice. Clean and with tasty design that involves movie flavours can make your stay in beautiful and always sunny Hvar more memorable.
Hotel is nice, location is excellent.
Breakfast can be better.
The bell boy and front desk made us feel like 2nd grade guests in favor of ex TV person. So we almost missed ferry because they brought our suitcases on time. Hotel is in pedestrian zone and they provide this service, to bring your suitcases to the car.
At the same time, great touch were complementary water and soarkling wine. And chocolate, of course.
Restaurant staff and housekeeping staff were excellent.
The hotel is directly opposite where the ferries dock so it is on a busy promenade. By night the dock fills with yachts and is a great people watching spot. There is noise but you can’t expect anything else given the hotel’s location. The double glazing does keep the noise out and we slept every night without any problem. You are close to all the bars and restaurants and the main square. Hvar is a lovely port and the best we visited in Croatia! We stayed in a sea view room. Pay the extra it’s worth it! The view was fantastic. Two complimentary Croatian proseccos greeted us which was a lovely touch. The rooms are small but you have everything you need. There is a fridge, safe, toiletries and the rooms are cleaned and towels replaced every day. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice including champagne if you fancy a Buck’s Fizz! On the morning we left (in the middle of the night!) we were given a breakfast pack to take with us which was very gratefully received. All in all a super stay!
A place to be if you want to be in the middle of the crowd. Overlooking the yacht harbour, with a busy promenade in front of your room. The sea view is great. The amenities and facilities of the hotel make it a perfect place to visit the city and the island. However, the rooms are way too small and the prices are on the high side. From a value for money, it's a no go. If you are looking after a trendy boutique hotel located in the heart of the city, this is the place to go.
We stayed here as part of an organized bike tour. The hotel is located right in the marina and has a large terrace/bar where you can people and boat watch. The room itself was super small, but we imagine there were larger rooms available. Two small bottles of Prosecco awaited our arrival, which scored huge points with me! The bathroom was an awkward shape but for one night, it was just fine. We had a perfect view of both the marina and old town from our room. The breakfast room was large and the food was quite adequate, serving hot and cold food. Staff were great.
