Overview

A charming stay on the outskirts of Pézenas, with spa access, a treatment discount and a suite option

The Lowdown

For laid-back living in Southern France’s Languedoc-Roussillon region, it doesn’t get better than Pézenas – the charismatic medieval town that was once home to French playwright, actor and comedy genius Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, otherwise known as Molière. And the setting for this chic hideaway couldn’t be more on-point either; just short distance from the historic centre.
Housed in a former distillery that was cleverly converted into a hotel in 2012, there’s plenty here to please. Facilities include an inviting outdoor pool with sun loungers, gorgeous Mediterranean gardens, and well-appointed spa complete with indoor pool, Jacuzzi, hammam, and lovely rooms for top-to-toe treatments with organic oils and wild herbs.
For those who like their rustic-chic accommodation spiced up with a little boutique glamour, each of the uniquely-styled guest rooms assures rich red hues that pay tribute to the building’s wine-making past. And the food’s just as impressive, with an ever-changing menu of bistro-style Mediterranean and regional dishes that’s expertly paired with local Languedoc wines.

Bravo Pezenas

We choose here as a highlight of our 2 week+ holiday in France and Spain and it did not disappoint. It was the most expensive hotel in our holiday but we knew that in advance and it also had the largest room, with a small kitchen and large living area and balcony so that makes sense!
We did not eat here (apart from Breakfast) as we stayed here on a Sunday and Monday and the restaurant is closed - but do not fear the bar is still open and the team are on hand to make some good recommendations for alternatives in Pezenas.
Huge bonus is the onsite pool and when we stay it was very quiet and much appreciated in the 37+ heat!
So - great rooms, worth the extra money, fantastic pool and a massive choice at breakfast and the option to eat in or out! Perfect. The staff we interacted with were lovely and genuine which makes a huge difference.
Would recommend and would return! Say no more!!!

A GREAT ADDITION TO PEZENAS

We have stayed in the area of Pezenas for many years but this is the first time we have stayed at the Carriagae Distillerie de Pezenas, a boutique hotel. We found the staff helpful and friendly and the room, an apartment in effect, (bedroom, sitting room with dinning table for four, together with a small kitchen area, there is also a modern bathroom with a wet room) quite large. The apartment also had a large verandah overlooking the pool. The Bistro and breakfast areas were well appointed. The buffet breakfast was the best we have had in any stay with a range to suit all requirements

Pretty Pézenas

We spent 3 nights at this hotel before heading to the coast. It was perfect and even better than it looked online.
The room was huge, 2 rooms with a kitchen area and huge bathroom, plenty big enough for 5 of us and they put in an extra bed for free!
The location is amazing, literally across the road from this beautiful little town, which has lots of shops and restaurants!
We loved the pool area too, which was really lovely.
Great hotel, great location, great value for money! We will be back for sure!
