Domaine de Verchant
How to Get There
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our two small children. The pools are beautiful and there is a large lawn with outdoor chess and a small swing set. The staff is attentive and is quick to respond to requests. We would love to return.
Stunning hotel transformed sensitively from a chateau and some outbuildings, all beautifully arranged within large grounds. Room 10 has a large outdoor terrace and view over the grounds, which formed the base for several al fresco room service dinners and wine. Breakfast were very high quality, full of local produce. Amazingly hi-tech yet accessible gym, and a great pool with plenty of beds on which to relax. Staff were terrific too, professional, courteous, friendly and very helpful. Loved everything about this place.
The Domaine gets into your soul it's such a special hotel. Located in a chateau on the outskirts of Montpellier it sits in acres of its own vineyards so you can ignore the boring business park outside and luxuriate in French countryside views. Our room was magnificent with excellent styling and good facilities. Great aircon. The heated pool and posh deck of loungers is wonderful. Again you can swim while gazing at vineyards. Pool restaurant was excellent for daytime snacks and a lovely dinner one night. Only 26 rooms so feels exclusive. Great helpful bilingual staff. Only two little suggestions... don't charge 3 euros to use the in room Nespresso machine that feels cheap in such an exclusive place. Breakfast was only a nice continental buffet so not worth 28 euros. Should have cheaper options to include in the room rate or add an a la carte hot food service as an option. I just like fruit, coffee and croissant for breakfast so didn't feel it was worth the price meaning we headed straight out on most days.
But that is my only suggestion this place is wonderful and they deserve it to be a success they've clearly spent millions making everything perfect. We shall have to come back
