How to Get There
The staff was very welcoming and helpful during our visit. The hotel is rather "worn and torn" needing updating. Our room was very spacious but bathrooms could be updated . Everything was clean but it did not have the feel and ambiance of a 5 star hotel. I'm not aware of exactly how this rating is established, but for me this was a nice hotel that needed to be renovated and did not stand out like other 5 star hotels.
We had dinner at the restaurant which was good and also the breakfast buffet was nice.
We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our experience. The staff is to be commended on their service, friendliness and professionalism. We had breakfast one morning, but preferred to go our early and pick up provisions for the day. We enjoyed the bar area for snacks and drinks and had dinner one night in the room- very delicious duck and gnocchi with mushroom sauce. Great history and lovely setting. My wife also left a number of articles of clothing in the room and all were returned to us when we stopped back later in the week. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to the team at the Chateau for making our stay so enjoyable.
Such a shame that the restaurant and breakfast was very disappointing overpriced and staff quite miserable and rude the setting for the hotel is beautiful and some serious work on the service and food provided needs to be addressed
Nice, price worthy, a bit run down so more like a lovely 4star instead of a 5star hotel. Pictures on website doesn’t really reflect actual location. It’s in a residential area and not free standing. Isn’t it time to ditch a minibar ?
Arrived and parked in the park near reception. Check in was efficient and we were a bit early and we went to a lovely room. Lift as well as stairs option to our floor. Room was excellent and large enough. View over the the town was pleasant. Had tea and coffee making facilities which is quite rare in France. Had to ask for a refresh of the items every day. Bar fridge was big enough to hold our wine for drinking. Enough glasses. Room could have been vacuumed whilst we were there. Bathroom was ok. Needed to ask for more soap. Checkout was ok but I had to ask for a breakfast I did not have to be deleted.
Would I go again. YES. However I would ask for better room service. Is it expensive. YES however the public rooms and grounds are lovely. Highly recommended with small reservations.
