Superb hotel!

My husband and I first came across the Achtis in 2012 when we visited for a week. The reviews were very good and we came away from this oasis of calm and class leading tranquillity, amazed and intent on returning again, which we have now on numerous occasions.
It is a tribute to Magda and Achilles that they have not only maintained such high standards but extended the hotel facilities at one and the same time. Many of the staff have been retained over the years, which again in such a business speaks volumes of the professionalism and acceptance by everyone involved in the provision of a superlative service. The rooms, all individually decorated, are maintained spotlessly as are the gardens and surrounding areas.
To be greeted by Lilia, the manager, by your first names and be engaged in a chat over what the Achtis can offer and arrange for you, be introduced to other key staff and the owners really takes one’s breath away with the friendliness. The garden offers a wonderful relaxing area with peacocks wandering around and the fish in the pond part of Achilles naturalist interests.
The Achtis breakfast is one to behold! Such is the breadth of choice available it is quite dizzying. Initially the hotel offered board on a B & B basis with lunch available and in recent times full board has been available. The hotel’s Greek night is one not to be missed with music and Christina leading the dancing afterwards.
I recommended this hotel to a friend and his partner and to be honest, he initially thought we were over stating this hotel. He declared this holiday the best ever and came away dazzled by both the hotel and the village of Afytos, the live music venue and the beaches. He will be back as will we in September 2020.
This is possibly the best hotel ever created regardless of its star rating.

A very relaxing holiday

The Achtis Hotel is a real gem. We turned up at the hotel and thought - 'where have we come to' as it was not what we were expecting as you have to ring the intercom and wait, you cannot just walk into the hotel or grounds. The lovely Nadia greeted us at the door and welcomed us into the hotel with welcome drinks and cake. The hotel and grounds were like an oasis set amidst a not so great area. Speaking from our own perspective we did not like the outside or the 5 minute walk to the village - we didn't find this particularly pleasant. The village of Afitos was lovely, many shops, bars and restaurants and little cobbled streets - all of which seemed a little touristy to us as they catered for the many tourists that visit. We visited early October and the village was busy so in high season it must be absolutely packed. The hotel was beautiful, relaxing and very calming. Nadia and the team could not do enough for you and I think they genuinely cared and wanted to help you have a great holiday. I have a food intolerance and once I explained the seriousness of it they prepared me special pancakes every morning and baked special cakes just for me - absolutely wonderful. The rooms are cleaned and beds/towels changed every day. Even the cleaning ladies were lovely. A full size fridge and kettle in the room which was great for us and the family suite we had with two balconies was ideal. So in summary, I could not fault the hotel, the pool is cleaned for hours overnight every night and poolside and paths washed down every morning. Sun loungers with cushions and pool and beach towels from the hotel made it easy and relaxing. The only bit we personally didn't like was the walk to the village and the fact that you have to ensure the doors are closed and locked when entering/leaving the hotel to stop any non guests entering - as I have already said - the hotel was like an oasis in the middle of a not so great area.

Perfect honeymoon

Returning to Achtis again after a good few years. This time bringing my husband.

We left our children at home with their grandparents and enjoyed 10 days of pure bliss. As parents to 3 young children we don’t get any time to ourselves, but when we arrived it was like stepping into paradise.

All the staff were incredible, and the massages are amazing. ( could live there just to get a massage every day )

Thank you to all the staff at the Achtis for a truly magical honeymoon ❤️
