On Sanya Bay, at the southern tip of Hainan Island, the Pullman Oceanview is a five-star megaresort with a large lagoon-style pool, tennis courts, a private beach and tons of family-friendly activities. The 469 air-conditioned guestrooms have a contemporary beach feel, with neutral tones, natural fabrics and bold accents, and they all overlook the gardens or the ocean. The bathrooms come with large separate tubs and rain showers, and the windows open fully to let in the cool sea breeze (although mosquitoes can be a nuisance in this area). The apartments are truly spacious (1,291 to 1,937 square feet) and offer 180-degree ocean views. There are two restaurants, one international and one Cantonese, and four bars, including the 17th-floor Red Sun Bar for sundowners with views.
In the Area
There are tons of activities to try your hand at in built-for-tourists Sanya, in the southern part of Hainan Island. The beaches near the hotel are perfect for jet-skiing, paragliding and banana boating, and the hotel can help organize glass-bottom boating, deep sea fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. There’s surfing in Riyue Bay; lessons and equipment can be organized with Surfing Hainan. During the Qing Dynasty, Hainan was known as the End of the Earth, and today tourists flock to a rock formation of the same name.
How to Get There
We are very pleased to report our excellent experiences from our stay in Santa, not a very well-known place for non-Asian. Santa is a very pleasant place - and the Pullmann Oceanview is a perfect resort of a retreat. The hotel is practically right at the beach (a small underground corridor bring you to the guarded private beach). We hd ordered a pickup service from the airport - and were friendly welcomed in the hotel by Vivian. She showed us our upgraded room - a suite on the 15th floor - with breathtaking 180 degrees view over the hotel garden and the ocean - we now understand why the hotel got its name - Ocean-view - During our one week stay in the hotel - the friendliness of all Pullmann personal is striking - during the breakfast Cindy and Charlotte guided us to our quiet "own table" outside at the waterfront - Jennifer in the lounge is a very hospitable lady and makes the lounge visits very worthwhile - and Mr. Saffian and his team makes eating in the hotel - especially in the BBQ restaurant - to a very nice experience - with well presented and excellent choice of food - the hotel and the outside accommodations a paradise for (young) children - and especially the "feeding-fish" activity is striking! Although the hotel was almost full booked - we found the room - pool and restaurants pleasant and not overfilled. Upon departure Nicky and Kelly handled our somewhat difficult administration professional - friendly and smoothly
An ocean view and a pool view great room sizes , and buffet food was so tasty . awesome value for money .definitely recommend . You can walk through a tunnel directly to the beach with white sands and small waves
I must admit the arrival was stressfull because reception couldn't find our Expedia booking. Nevertheless the staff was very helpfull and we could get our apartment ready. Hotel is spacious but you do not feel overwhelmed. It has beautifully maintained garden and few swimming pools. One of the pools was dedicared solely to adults - I find it a real blessing as I could swimming in peacefull environment. My son enjoyed kids friendly environment - plenty of indoor and outdoor attractions. Food was delicious with good selection of European products. Hotel has a private beach with easy underground access. I could give 5* but.... The mattess in my bed was stone hard, 4 days my back felt I was sleeping on the floor. The room service tried to help putting additional covers on the bed but it did not help ????.
Another obstacle is that almost NOBODY speaks English while lots of hotel staff can communicate in Russian.
All in all fantastic experience. Highly recommend to families with small children.
