Overview

Family-friendly megaresort on Sanya Bay with a lagoon-style pool, tennis courts and tons of water sports

The Lowdown

On Sanya Bay, at the southern tip of Hainan Island, the Pullman Oceanview is a five-star megaresort with a large lagoon-style pool, tennis courts, a private beach and tons of family-friendly activities. The 469 air-conditioned guestrooms have a contemporary beach feel, with neutral tones, natural fabrics and bold accents, and they all overlook the gardens or the ocean. The bathrooms come with large separate tubs and rain showers, and the windows open fully to let in the cool sea breeze (although mosquitoes can be a nuisance in this area). The apartments are truly spacious (1,291 to 1,937 square feet) and offer 180-degree ocean views. There are two restaurants, one international and one Cantonese, and four bars, including the 17th-floor Red Sun Bar for sundowners with views.

In the Area

There are tons of activities to try your hand at in built-for-tourists Sanya, in the southern part of Hainan Island. The beaches near the hotel are perfect for jet-skiing, paragliding and banana boating, and the hotel can help organize glass-bottom boating, deep sea fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. There’s surfing in Riyue Bay; lessons and equipment can be organized with Surfing Hainan. During the Qing Dynasty, Hainan was known as the End of the Earth, and today tourists flock to a rock formation of the same name.

The location is good, around 15 mins drive form the airport, 15 mins drive to the town centre with large shopping centre, and 25 mins drive to the famous sightseeing point, "Edges of the heaven, Corners of the sea" (天涯海角).

In fact, there is not much things to do in Sanya, thus, a good hotel is important. Pullman is our first choice.

The facilities are good, she has gym, swimmiing pools, small water park, spa, children playground (both indoor and outdoor), etc. She also has three restaurant and the room service is also good if you want to stay inside your room.

We stayed at the Villa, whcih is able to accomdate 10 of us as a family travel. There is a private pool in the Villa and we can swim all day.

The service is good, all of the staff are attentive, caring and experienced with smile on their face all the time.

Wonderful scenery

Excellent service and quality. This is very big hotel, but still can leave impression of quite of intimate place. Rooms are very huge and luxurious designed. From 15th floor there is amazing view on the beach, sea and hotel swimming pools. Very wide range of breakfast dishes.

Nice resort, having all facilities that you need for a good stay...

Room big, clean and quite, bathroom very nice and nice balcony view.

Breakfast was awesome with plenty of options.

Unfortunately someone stole my sunglasses at the private beach front and nobody was able to help to find, I asked about cameras and hotel said that they don't have cameras in that area...

Pleasent stay

Stayed 7 pleasant nights in the hotel. Overall absolutely satisfied with the amenities. Very comfortable and clean rooms with an amazing view on the white sand beach and beautiful sea (stayed on 7th floor). The breakfasts served in the morning can satisfy preferences of any guest when different types of cuisine can be chosen. On the area of the hotel you can find big variety of pools up to your choice. Only one problem faced while staying there is a inability to interact easily with the personnel of the hotel. Reception more or less understands English. But approaching smb of rest staff sometimes I had to explain in simple terms, even on fingers!

Decent Experience

Overall quite decent experience. Paying for the cheapest sea view room but actually can bearly see (from level 5). Breakfast shall improve the most. Compared to Pullman in other countries (eg Indonesia), here has fewer variaties and easier to get sick of the food. Main hall area is a bit hot even at night. This will definitely affect bar business.
