Amazing property, luxurious but not pretentious, it haves everything you need.
The food is extraordinary, local and contemporary mexican cuisine. Very kind to attend special demands such as food alergies. Staff is great!!
The rooms are awesome, they have all the things you expect.
I highly recomend this place for a long or short stay, with or without kids.

Location, ambiance, accommodations, amenities, and cuisine were perfect, The service and Latin warmth was exemplary. Our 33rd Anniversary celebration could not have been better. We thank the hotel and staff for all. A special shout out to Heriberto, Jose, and Juan who welcomed and treated us like royalty, and more importantly to us, like “Familia”.

We have stayed at this property several times over the past 4 years, have recommended it to friends, and will continue to return. The food, location, atmosphere and service is wonderful! Chef Fredy is the best! We had great service from Felipe, Eric and Carlos as well. Enjoy!

A Beautiful Hotel!

We have been to Zihuatanejo several times and have stayed at different locations. We originally booked this trip when Thompson's was still Villa Del Sol. I do not know what the hotel looked like before Hyatt took over, but it is beautiful now. Our room was gorgeous, very clean, and had a lovely lagoon view. We even had a plunge pool. The beach is beautiful in front of the hotel with very nice beach chairs and tables with waiter service. I am not sure what the price range was on services at this hotel before it became Thompson, but it is definitely a high end hotel now. Food and drink prices are a bit up there, but it is all very good. We even ate at their prix fixe restaurant, which was tastey. A couple of the food items on the prix fixe had very strong flavors which my husband and I were not crazy about, but they seem to be going for more of a smoked menu, which I guess explained that. Our only complaint regarding the hotel is, we wish they had a more "beachy" menu for when you are sitting by the pool and beach area. Everything on the menu is small tasting bites with sauces and interesting flavors, but when you are on the beach, you want hamburgers, fries, nachos, etc. I think it would also be nice if they had a beach time happy hour. They do have a happy hour but it's from 7-8PM. Most people have gone to dinner by then. I know they are still "finding themselves" under the new management and I do think it's all headed in the right direction. The staff, by the way, is excellent. When we spoke with some of the staff, many of them had been there with Villa Del Sol, so happy to hear the management kept them on. If you are looking for an upscale stay in Zihuatanejo, this is an excellent choice.
