How to Get There
Definitively a wonderful place. Everyone is very kind and helpful. rooms are real nice, pools, restarants, all that is worth the price you pay for your stay... but...
We came on a peak weekend and there was literally full house. You get to stand in line for breakfast for several minutes if you show up at the last minute. All that is understandable but when it comes to the temporary people they hire for this peak days, those poor people are cluless. They seem to have the motivation, and they are all very kind always, but sometimes they dont know what they have to do, or how to do it; specially at the restarant. I feel its not actually these kids problem, the hotel should train them better (specially for what they charge, because its not cheap).
Besides that, everything delicious, everyone helps and has a wonderful interaction, the hotel is really beautiful, the kids club (excelent!), the pool area is huge... a great place to stay every now and then
Daniel was the best manager you have his high energy was seen through out the staff.. Rooms are great and enjoyed having the options of the other resorts.the only thing I would have like to see is Canadian whiskey . But will reccomend the resort
The Palacio Mundo was a nice resort. However, when everyone you speak with is sick to their stomach, then there is definitely something wrong with the food handling/storage/cooking or with the water/ice being used. If you are going to stay and not eat there, you will be okay. Otherwise, be very careful with what you choose to eat. We are still sick, almost one week after returning! Not a nice way to spend a two week all inclusive stay. You are also not allowed to bring any outside food or drinks into the hotel. So, make sure you are mobile, as you only have La Isla that is within walking distance. Unfortunately, what could have been a great stay, turned out to be one of the worst in Mexico, because our whole party of 8 got sick, and Immodium and Pepto-Bismol was not enough to get us better!
I must say that I had to wait a few days to write my review, calm down and put everything into perspective. Not from any fault of the resort but from Sunwing, I will get to that one.
We arrived 6 hours later than we should have so we were all tired and just wanted to get off a plane and out of an airport, off a bus and into a wonderful inviting resort.
This resort is truly 5 minutes from the airport which is a bonus.
Check-in- 5 star all the way, they had us checked in and on our way within 10 min, the bellboys grabbed our luggage got us to our room and we were unpacked and ready to explore at 10:00 pm as opposed to 3:00 pm when we were supposed to arrive, no problem, now that we are here.
Room-as anticipated, I booked and received a king junior suite, totally enjoyed the extra space, I would highly recommend spending the few extra dollars and getting this room category.
Food- I never had a problem, one niggler if I were to complain, serve mimosa's for breakfast, you are not saving any money, as for Canadian's we will double up.
This resort is not on the beach, does not matter, pools are amazing, and you can grab the shuttle and go to La Scala beach club every half hour during the day, amazing!!! let me say that again, Amazing. We went almost everyday, service was unbelievable, views are beyond belief and the food and bar service is beyond reproach, they have not only the beach there but 3 pools and the best ceviche I have ever had.Daniel at the La Scala always had a smile on his face and was always watching and taking care of the clientele.
Service-the only complaint I have about this is that we had to go to the front desk every morning to find out which restaurants were open for the evening, it should be posted where the elevators are.
This is the second time being to Acapulco, by far I would chose and recommend this resort over and over again.
The important thing is going to the sunwing meeting the next day to find out what your "all inclusive" inclusions are. This resort and many of the Acapulco resorts are just coming on line with the rest of their country so they are still in the learning curve, so just remember that there may not be all the inclusions that you think there should be if you are travelling from Canada. Special shout out to Tony the Sunwing Rep at the Resort, ask him any question. Another special shout out to Luz-you are amazing.
Very nice clean hotel with great food .not a party place at all .very quite and refined .No beach on site but free shuttle to sister hotel with beach .Friendly staff and great experience all around. Only issues were no English tv except for fox news and cnn, and the one bar that's open at night didn't have great service or shows.
