My 81 year old father and I arrived to find the details of our reservation through RBC travel Rewards was not the same as our confirmation papers. We had paid for the "Estudio" room that was to include a fridge,sink,microwave, and two double beds. The front desk clerk said the reservation had requested a standard room with one King sized bed. I told her
We needed two beds and showed her my paper work to backup what we were expecting. Eventually we were brought up to the ninth floor to a double bed standard room. We checked out the room and quickly realized that we did not have an Estudio type room. We had to go back downstairs and revisit the check in process even though we already showed our itinerary to the clerk. After the long flight with a hectic transfer in Mexico City we were too low in spirits to argue with them about why the room was not what we paid for. They changed us to another room on the first floor for the night and told us we would move to the correct room after 3 the next day. So the first floor room was a bit of a nightmare, most the light switches didn't work properly either no lights came on or couldn't turn off, a/c was not effective and more importantly the shower didn't operate normally;there was only a trickle of water in which to rinse away the days travel off. The next dayI checked the desk 3 times after 3pm before the fifth floor room 510 would be ready. I had made it clear that if this room was not in proper working order that my father was adamant we move hotels. Happily, after he and I and 2 hotel employees check it out we were satisfied that our Emporio stay would continue. So we lost one day of our Acapulco vacation to glitches that could have been detected earlier if I had the foresight to check directly with the Emporio reservation desk about the details of our reservation with theirs. So lesson learned, always check directly with the hotel because things can happen that are not anticipated and dampen your vacation if you don't book directly with the hotel. After that everything went very well at the hotel. We had drinks in the lobby bar ,where we met Fernando, a very capable English speaking worker. Fernando was very helpful in explaining their happy hour and entertainment. Also, we noticed his excellent presence as a team captain in the dining room as well. The attention he gave us was amazing and reminds me and my Dad of an old school hospitality; a general commitment to customer service that we just don't see very often any more. At the adult pool we were taken care of by Luiz who has the greatest smile and humble sense to please us. We meet Raul over in the shady spots by the family pool and snack bar another caring human being who impresses us with his charming service. Most days we found the infinity pool to be the most relaxing and quiet. Also you can see and hear the ocean while being poolside here. The Mynah birds can be entertaining to watch while they come to drink and make fun dipping in a fountain here. Now sadly, I have forgotten the name of the server who mainly works this area. He is a tall, lean young man who doesn't have great capacity to speak English but his ability works well with my poor Spanish and all is worked out without much trouble. Well except for the last day when after returning from the pool to my room there was a knock at our door, standing there was this poor server who was in distress as I had not signed my last transaction. So forgive me for not remembering your name but you went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasurable one. . We did enjoy our time here and recommend it as a good choice for its centralized location. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, both my Dad & I slept very well here.
The Emporio is a clean locale with lots of good food & amenities in and around the vicinity of the hotel.

The rooms are very nice, renovated (bathtub could use update), AMAZING view, a little noisy (traffic noise very noticeable), great location in the middle of the costera strip, will be my future destination from now on.

Just after New Year’s Day, our son, his wife and their two little daughters(1 year & almost 4 years old), my wife and I drove from the cold Pachuca towards warmer Acapulco. We had booked a couple of Suites Club Privilege with Ocean views.
We arrived on January the 2nd and literally HAD to leave on the 5th because the little ones were eager to be on time for their Three Wise Men presents. The Emporio was our Home for three nights and from the moment we gave the keys to our SUV,
We NEVER had to use it again because to begin with, the girls enjoyed the Family pool and the beach SO MUCH, that we didn’t want to do much else. Then the absolutely prime location of this beautiful hotel, situated right in the middle of everything ind Acapulco let us take nice walks to everything, Markets, Stores, Restaurants, Museums, everything.
Our lodgings included a free continental breakfast, BUT, we always took the Hotel’s Restaurant breakfast buffet which is a really good and delicious experience!!!😋
The accommodations were excellent, the service was great, everything and everyone
went out of their way to make our stay in Acapulco a real highlight of our Winter Vacation. Thanks a lot to The Staff and Management of the Emporio!!!

Big and beachfront

After three weeks in the freezing conditions of the USA north east WE WANTED SOMEWHERE TO CHILL OUT, WARM UP, RELAX by the pool, walk the beac, read books and eat seafood in a hassle free place.... this was perfect. Central to shops, beach front, rooms with balcony and views and very safe

Me hospedé en este hotel para asistir a una boda aquí y aprovechar el viernes y el domingo también.
El hotel Emporio Acapulco se ve que es un hotel tipo Gran Turismo en una zona céntrica de Acapulco, sobre la Costera o avenida principal.

Instalaciones
Las instalaciones ya tienen su tiempo pero han sido relativamente renovadas para ofrecer una mejor experiencia, sin embargo hay partes que siguen necesitando trabajo o están en proceso y dan mala impresión; por ejemplo el barco para niños en la alberca que parece más una escena de crimen, o los elevadores que tenían un goteo permanente y un olor a drenaje constante.
En las habitaciones aparentemente todo estaba bien, pero se ve que han sido diseñadas para otra época ya que únicamente disponía de 1 contacto libre en el escritorio de la habitación y 2 en el baño, claramente no están preparados para cargar dispositivos móviles, e incluso en la clavija de la lámpara, había unos cables conectados directamente al despertador, suponiendo también cierto riesgo.
Fuera de estos detalles, las instalaciones se pueden considerar casi promedio.

Servicio
Recepción, terrible experiencia de registro; al momento de nuestra llegada, también llegaron 2 autobuses repletos de gente para otros eventos. Aunque hubo un mostrador exclusivo para esos grupos, el otro mostrador no tenía personal suficiente y el proceso era muy lento, acompañado de poca ventilación y mucho calor, esto hizo una experiencia decepcionante.

Internet
En mi caso nunca detectó el portal para registrarse al servicio, pero un acompañante no tuvo problemas. Se podría considerar que no ofrece un servicio constante.

Valet parking para estacionamiento
Mal organizados entre ellos, mala experiencia por el tráfico que se hacia con los grupos que llegaban, uno indicaba algo, luego otro indicaba algo diferente, en este proceso también perdimos mucho tiempo hasta que finalmente llegó alguien a dar mejores indicaciones y controlar la situación general.

Restaurante
El buffete de desayuno estaba bastante variado y sabroso. El menú a la carta para la comida estaba normal pero el sabor dejaba mucho que desear.
Un punto muy negativo es que no aceptan cargar la propina a la habitación, incluso con voucher abierto. El objetivo es no cargar dinero ni valores, pero forzan a uno a cargar efectivo constantemente. Muy mal este punto

Salón de Belleza
En mi visita, atendí un a ceremonia en el hotel, donde se habían coordinado citas para atender a las invitadas a la ceremonia, el horario lo cambiaron bastante, aceptaban gente que no estaba planeada y al final no dieron ni explicaciones ni disculpas. El hotel se justificaba diciendo que era un servicio ajeno. pero lo ofrecen como complemento. También muy mal aquí.

Ubicación
La ubicación fue céntrica y acceso a algunos bares, restaurantes y centros comerciales en la zona clásica de Acapulco. Creo que esto fue de lo mejor.

En general.
Asistí a un evento aquí, y no planeo regresar, a menos que tenga otro evento. En general el servicio ha venido a menos y no pueden manejar grupos eventos y huéspedes manteniendo una experiencia agradable.

I stayed at this Hotel while attending a wedding event here and also trying to enjoy Friday and Sunday as well.
Emporio Acapulco Hotel is a kind of Grand Tourism hotel in centric neighborhood in Acapulco, on the main avenue.

Facilities
Facilities are from an older time with relatively some renewals to provide a better experience, however, there are parts that still need some work or are in renewal process and causing a bad image; for example, the boat for kids in the pool which looks more like a crime scene, or the elevators which had a permanent leak and a drain-like smell.
The rooms seemed average, but were designed for older times since only one power outlet was available in the room and 2 more in the bathroom, clearly did not allow easy mobile device charging, even in the outlet for the bed lamp, there were cables directly wired to the alarm clock without a proper outlet and plug meaning certain risk level.
Besides these details, I could consider almost average facilities.

Service
Font desk, terrible check-in experience; when we arrived, another 2 buses full of people from other groups arrived. Besides having a dedicated front desk for these groups, the regular front desk didn’t have enough staff and the process was very slow, adding the fact of a very inefficient ventilation and high temperatures inside, it was a very disappointing experience.

Internet
In mi case I was never able to login the portal for service registration, but one of my family didn’t have any problem, may be the service is not regular.

Valet Parking
Poorly organized, bad experience due to the traffic caused by the groups arriving in the buses, one of the staff said something, then another came and said something different and we spent too much time in this until some other came with better instructions and took control over the situation.

Restaurant
For breakfast buffet, it was very good with a lot of options. Menu for lunch was average but slow and taste was less than expected.
A very uncomfortable situation is that even with an open voucher it is not possible to put the tips to the room account; this situation force us to always carry money and makes te overall stay less comfortable.

Beauty Saloon
During my stay, I attended a wedding at the hotel. The female guests to the ceremony already had appointments, but were not respected and they also accepted walk-ins who were not planned for the ceremony. At the end there were no explanation or apologies. The hotel just justified that it was an external provider, but its offered as part of the overall Hotel Offer. This was a very annoying situation.

Location
Location is centric, with access to bars, restaurants and some shopping centers in a classic Acapulco neighborhood. This was one of the best parts of the hotel.

In general
I came here to attend an event and I’m not planning to come back unless is for another event.
It seems the services was degraded because their inability to handle groups, events and guests simultaneously and keeping a good experience for all.
