Pleasant Surprise
Reviewed 7 days ago

Our first visit to Acapulco, weren't sure what to expect. We had heard all of the travel warnings and decided at the last minute to give it a try for a short 3 night stay.
Upon arriving, took a taxi to our hotel and were surprised at how nice the area around the airport was, very clean and new. As we entered town, we saw some rougher areas, but nothing that looked dangerous. Arriving at the Fiesta Americana we found it to be a nice property in a great beach location in the middle of everything.
At check in, the manager asked us of we were interested in upgrading our two studio rooms for a 2 bedroom, ocean view suite, for a reasonable fee. After haggling a'bit, the manager ended up giving us a three bedroom, ocean view room for the same fee. *Note, it seems that Acapulco mainly caters to national tourists that drive from Mexico City for the weekend, we checked in on a Tuesday, and felt like we had the run of the house.
The property and hotel room were very clean, but are older and due for a remodel.
The staff were amazingly friendly and made us feel welcomed. We took taxis around the tourist zone and walked to nearby restaurants during the day/evening, with out any issues.
Of you're tired of places like Cancun that have lost the feel of being in Mexico, give Acapulco a shot, if you take the risk, you'll find a great vacation spot, at a fraction of the cost, with lots of old Mexican charm.

This is a place like paradise. The weather is just right for all season. I recommend if someone looking for vacation ,this is the one you don't want to miss.In particular in low season.you will get attention all around the people like VIP service.
At peak season, because of over crowded tourists they don't have enough people to serve you like in low season. That's is why I am highly recommend to take your vacation there in between January to middle of July. Mark my word, you won't regret for my advice.

Super friendly and we'll kept hotel

We got a great studio room overlooking the pool and beach. The staff are always polite and attentive to your needs. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a fridge, coffee maker, and micro wave.
Some of the amenities we took advantage of was the couples massage, breakfast room service, the gym, and the cabanas. These were all nominally priced.
The one thing I can tell you not to do is the timeshare presentation for Avanta. Just don't go. They got my credit card info and made charges on my card.

Music playing until 6am

The hotel could have a 5 Star rating but the noise is really bad, you can hear it on the 19th floor! The music from the club/bar with its thumping base rattles your teeth, nightmare.
The food could be better we felt it all came out of the freezer and the bought in pizza base was better eaten cold the next day!
The pool area is super and the views out into Acapulco bay are amazing. The service, friendliness and cleanliness was tiptop however is that enough?
I read others reviews and thought the noise can’t be that bad, well it is, so unless you can sleep through anything.....choose another hotel or if you can then maybe this is the one for you!
